Status Update #63

This week we've been focusing on animations.
Animations are one of those things we try to improve on with each cycle because they're so requested. Back in the day when we had no animations, we kept hearing that we need them, and lots of them! We didn't really have any scenes to put them in then, but now we do. In fact, we're starting to reach the kind of content where we can make a whole bunch of them, especially for the main girls.
We also have our animation rig up, and the next step is waiting for graphic cards to open up the path to anything we can think of. We luckily managed to avoid the crazy spike in RAM prices, but Fs in the chat for those who were planning to build new setups now or in the future.
We still have a couple of animations we'd like to add, as well as new renders. We also tried a multi-animation test for a scene where the animation doesn't loop, but transitions between angles like in a video. It's a bit odd for now, but we'll continue working on it and see if it's worth keeping. This is one of our goals for some of the longer scenes, so we'd like to get it right the first time.
Android also got plenty of attention this week, and we've been considering if we should release it after the PC version. It works as intended, mostly. However, the in-game phone and laptop content don't really agree with that small screen. Unless you're rocking some heavy prescription lenses at least.
Most of the bugs should now be cleared, at least from what we've managed to comb through. Dialogue is also starting to feel clean. We have a few scenes left to edit properly on our end, and then it's time to get some fresh eyes on the update to see what we've missed.

The monthly special poll is also running, and currently it's a pretty even split between Sophie and Eve, with Ms. Hill in third place.

My fair warrior's the creator of a great game. ^^ Even if its still 6.2 We all been busy I am working at Amazon and flooding closed us down for 2 days. We cannot fathom what your dealing with on the other hoof. We just hope none of you died. ^.^ I enjoy eve and want to see what happens after the random abondment of the building. Yet all in all. You made a very great game so far. Should be Heralded for your hard work and dedication. I personally thank you for all your hard work that no one asked for til you picked up steam. Remember fella's its not an easy job. Though also remind yourselves. Patereon is not a job also. They have to work to make a living and also in there free time make a game even when dead tired. Does it hurt everyone that much to show compassion. For the gaming industry doesn't get your attention as much as summer heat. I for one am thankful and if you were to say it ends here. I am fine with that my friends I have made on this patreon site. ^u^

He felt the need to explain himself that he is not affiliated, before anybody ever asking. The only thing i question is, why somebody thinks a Dolores Umbridge type character would be appealing.

The messaging around development has felt increasingly disingenuous. For months we were told this update was around 90% complete yet here we are six months later with no timeline and no tangible progress to show. What makes this more frustrating is watching certain commenters, specifically Vincent Vega, exhaustingly and artificially talk everything up while aggressively shutting down valid criticism every single week. He is everywhere in the comments and it reads far less like organic community discussion and far more like damage control. Whether heβs officially affiliated or not, the behavior speaks for itself. At the end of the day, this is a point update, not a full game or a massive expansion. Other developers, including solo devs like pink cake, manage to release entire seasons of content in the same timeframe. Meanwhile, Patreon revenue continues to roll in and supporters are left with vague updates and recycled explanations instead of clear communication or accountability. People are not upset because they hate the game or feel entitled. They are upset because they have been patient for well over a year and still have no idea when or if this update is actually coming.

its official. we are still 6 months away at this point. that just pisses me off with all these small ass posts of adding 10 frames every single week. Dr. Pink Cake is 60% done with the new chapter of BAD and we expecting a september/october release from all the information he gives us and his updates are massive compared to this game AND hes only 1 single guy. you guys are really taking your sweet ass time working on this game and it shows.

Not gonna get into their financials because at the end of the day, I'm not paying em 10 grand a month and neither are you. At the end of the day, who wants to play an update that isn't finished? 7 or 8 of you it seems. But considering how many people kicked off last update because the update ended with a cliffhanger, that doesn't make any sense at all. I get that giving money every month is a challenge for people, and I think anyone who can't afford to do so, shouldn't do so but at the same time, there isn't anyone here who genuinely believes that there isn't actual development going on behind the scenes. Esp when we get official previews along the way. Beta testing is right around the corner, (*unofficially) and when you see how much content there is in the next update, you will understand why it's taking so long. I'm not speaking for them by the way, I'm just a fan of the game but if you read through that text they post every week and read between the lines, you pick little things up

I can understand why people like mc monkey are feeling the way they post here. With the number of patreons, 6$ the most used tier and the around 30% cut the plattform gets, you still earn around a massive 10k$ per month from this. While people know nothing about if theres real developement or just a short text every week. Giving money every month is difficult for people. Seeing they say the update is at 90 to 95% after 12 months and theres still no beta testing after 16 months, while you make 160000 $ is just a real stress of trust. I think at this point you should have just released what you have after 12 months and if you are not happy with it, patch it later. I think you still should do that.

No, I'm afraid not, they're only halfway through so we're gonna have to wait another 14 months for release, Q1 2027. I mean c'mon mate, you can see how they're getting closer to release. It's [unofficially] time to start getting our hopes up! Besides, tis the time of year for miracles ππΎπ

I'm so excited. And I just can't hide it. I'm about to lose control and I think I like it! πΆπΆ Such awesome news! A whole bunch of animations? Main girls mentioned in the same sentence? Sounds fantastic! Love that you've got your animation rig up and sorted.... and running? The multi-animation sounds particularly exciting! I absolutely love stuff like that, it's so much more immersive than your basic loop and I'm really looking forward to seeing that, if you guys can get it it how you like it. It's fantastic that you're planning to introduce more of those in future too ππ Glad Android is getting some love cos that's where I am. I've got a rather large 6.1" screen to play with but not all of us will have screens like that but compared to a PC or laptop, it's fuck all really so I can appreciate the challenges you're facing. As such, it would be completely understandable (at least from my end) if the Android was released a little later, which is also something some other Devs do too tbh. I mean it makes sense, all the content would be there already, you'll just be optimising what you have for the smaller screen, which takes a bit longer and that makes perfect sense. A few more scenes to edit and then fresh eyes.... That means, Beta testing!!! Am I right? ππππ If so, then that is fantastic news cos it means we are so much closer to release. I just wanna say I really appreciate all the hard work you guys are putting in! Fibakky, Ms. Hill needs some extra Influencer votes please! Still, the younger girls will be just fine if they edge it but Ms. Hill in all red and a Santa hat...
