Your ability to center things so naturally so our eyes follow certain parts of the piece is aaaamazingggg. I love the little quails. My favorite thing about your art (I mean... Aside from like everything) is how you put all these details into your characters so they don't only have mental personality but physical personality as well. It turned out excellent, plus you're inspiring me to add more backgrounds to my own art 😅

I made that up! I’d intended for it all to be mosaic but I quickly ran into the trouble of ‘…well what the heck do I fill it with’, so I opted for something simpler like the brick. I feel it keeps the sides interesting without crowding the rest of the painting! What I did use a ref for were the quail and chicks! Altho it was my idea to have them marching one after the other haha

This is so gorgeous, I love the background and the folds and gold details. Did you use a reference for the background, like, a base inspiration? Or did you just come up with the mix of bricks and mosaic yourself?
