Then I had a mental breakdown and didn't know what I wanted anymore.
That's why I spent the last 6 hours sitting down again and making a third draft.
I have such incredibly high expectations of myself for this book, the cover should enchant people a bit and reflect the friendly nature of the Reaper. Somehow that was much easier for me with the cover for the comic book.
I just don't know yet if I want a cat on the front AND back, maybe just a butterfly on the back?

Didn't get to chime in on the other covers, but having gone back and looked them over, hands down this. is. the. best! I don't like things to be too cluttered and while I liked what you were going for, the other covers were a bit too busy for my tastes. Also, in keeping with your art style, much of your Loving Reaper work has one or two main elements per panel with a few details scattered throughout. The cover is a good reflection of what to expect inside. I did like the idea of having the both of them on the cover (but not front and back) but haven't figured out how to make that work. The only idea I could suggest is maybe her sitting half behind him leaning the other direction (so their bodies subconsciously make a "heart"-ish shape. She'd be looking at him and smiling while cradling and petting a tastefully vague (sad) fur ball in her arm. But keep the back. Don't change a thing. Not the slightest detail. The kitty and butterfly are PERFECT! In this world of data overload you make me feel so much with so few pen strokes. Love your work and keep pulling on my heart strings.
