TYFTC!

THE HYPE KEEPS RAMPING UP!!!!! Is it Sagacity? Probably not, that’s Villy’s. Maybe Legacy of Man? Endless Tongues of the Myriad Races? Imagine it being Identify or (Serene Soul) Meditation 😂 Maybe Anomalous Arcane Soul which he just got? Probably none of the, either, seeing as they’re Race skills. Although, they would have had to start from somewhere. Ooh, what about One Step!? That’s not a Race skill, but IIRC, Villy once talked about that skill’s creator and it didn’t feel like it was the First Sage 🤔 If you really think about it, the ones that would make the most sense for the First Sage would be all those Race skills. Like I said, they had to have come from somewhere.

ChrisCidy

I love love love this storyline with the first sage. I'm hoping at some point for Villy's sake we eventually learn the name of the first sage.

Ray Light

Sagacity of the Arcane Hunter! Lets goo!

Chloe

Reeeeeee! Tyftc

Demonshadow639

I mean I was expecting an advanced skill, damn… that’s just insane!

Josh Hietpas

Called it

Spencer Miller

I was thinking One Step. Villy had said it’s a system-provided skill path that goes all the way up, but how could anyone really know that? No one would even have been strong enough to see the Sage create it.

Jo

I don’t know if you understood what I said, my friend.

Jo

Read the latest chapter yet? We’re both wrong hahaha. Incredible.

Fernando Medeiros

You were right! Nice one dude!

SilverSentry

Sagacity is literally based off something he learned from the First Sage. They go over that in the recent chapters.

Mat

Villy legacy skills are centered around either Villy being a snake that evolved to a dragon or alchemy. First Sage was human and was not an alchemist.

SilverSentry

I'm pretty sure zog said that's what sagacity of thr malefic viper is. I could totally see Villy taking other skills and making them his own. I personally think it's going to be one step. Zog mentiomed the Sage having insane speed with his travel skill.

Ty Cooper

Loving Nevermore in audible. Just can't wait for the next to release.

Ty Cooper

Your the first to mention that. I could see it

Ty Cooper

Some have hinted at the immortal mind might have been immortal in the system

Ty Cooper

Well he did spend 5 charges on it. At least he got lots for all his charges in d-grade. So far

Jo

I don’t see anyone talking about how the probability of some of Vipers legacy’s are actually The Fist Sage’s that over time mutated to be more inline with Viper and his path. Not sure it really but I like the idea of it

Gwiddion

They way Jacob talked after returning from collecting EH's remnants. That he doesn't hope they have to use sth. Makes me think he also collected the fusion of I and the king.

ABTelford

Omg thank you!! That is…SO awesome and makes his stat page info so much more relevant! Yo, Zogarth, we need this in the book please! 🙏🏼

ABTelford

Well that’s a game. Necessary there. Reading is way different.

Damian Horbal

I think the legacy of man is more probable.

Andrew P

Jake's boots had karmic links to all of the primordials

SilverSentry

I liked nevermore. Every story has a power level arc. Jake is always constantly powering up because he's a freak, but a change of pace is always nice.

brjenness

I would step 500 miles and I would step 500 more just to be the man that put an arrow in your door. Villastromaz. Villastromaz.

brjenness

I don't care about des child...I want grumpy stump to come back

brjenness

the ability to corrupt with intelligence?

brjenness

I like that idea.. we didn't find out sage ties to primordials

Tania Savard

TFTC! I think Legacy of Man is the legacy skill from the first sage.

Gingerlochs

I'm playing an Isekai RP based off the Primal verse - stat sheets are hella important for future growth xD

SetherAedekae

I came from audiobooks. The first 2 or 3 have A LOT of status pages

Michael Ferguson

Reee

Daniel Brian

Since you're here, I'm might as well help you with A skill, since that's what you're here for. *Gets skill upgrade* Maaaaybeee one more thing, if ya want... *Upgrade* One last thing.... *Upgrade* Oh, well I'll leave you with this... *Book for another upgrade* -The First Sage

Daniel Brian

Everything counts.😉

Daniel Brian

I'm more curious who collected what was left of I. My guess is that light mage guy. Dude seems pretty shady...

Daniel Brian

Yep. Pretty sure that's already been stated in the lore.

Daniel Brian

Who's to say they did? He never made it "alive" past the first Era, so it's entirely possible that he is the progenitor of those skills that "even the youngest" have. Sort of like how ALL humans get Valdemar's records, or all snakes get Vilas's. If he succeeded in making himself a part of the system, totally reasonable to think that these "system granted" skills are actually from the FS.

ABTelford

Nope. First Sage wasn’t a fighter. The dude killed a void beast with transcendent words and Will alone, what need does he have of a weapon? I vote one step mile. Or identify. Or making grimoirs. lol! Decisive aren’t I?

ABTelford

Yes! My thinking exactly! And what if (wild theory) he did the same for all the primordials? What if he visited all of them? I mean the dude was traveling through the emptiness of space at C grade at an insane speed. Why was he doing this and where was he going? 😀

ABTelford

Oh yes! Very good point

ABTelford

Nope that’s Valdemar I think

ABTelford

Intriguing idea but, nah, doesn’t track. Otherwise How would anyone contemporary to First Sage have had those skills?

ABTelford

Hahaha! Me too! BUT I do like having one full stat listing at least once a book so I can reference it. I get annoyed when they’re listed too often. I imagine this being read in an audio book format might be even more so

Christopher Lee

Not again bro, pls stop with these cliff hangers they going to be the death of me

Tyler Gibbs

E e e

Doug

I assumed the first chapter was about the legacy skill, and other chapters would be other topics, with some in there helping him fix his palate. Idk it doesn’t specify clearly but the way it was described seems like it would be a long time to get through that book

Doug

I was thinking one step mile at first… but I think you just changed my mind

Ed

So the sage says he is /was dead? Yet looks forward to seeing what Jake will become.

Demonshadow639

I’m thinking it’s [Serene Soul Meditation (Epic)], that seems like the closest to something that he would have.

Demonshadow639

Ok to be fair… I do the same thing with 90% of all stat sheets I read, I’m a skimmer not an in-depth guy when it comes to those.

InfernoDroid

Me reading Jake's stats: Meaninglessly large number gets bigger mmhm, nice. Arbitrarily large number to larger Arbitrary number, good work. Perception still best stat. Titles: nah Skills: eyes glaze over ... nope Rest of sheet: eyes still glazed over. Rest of chapter, good shit

Dalton Service

I wonder if it's one step thousand miles? With the emphasis of the first sage "stepping down" during the fight and then the scene of him walking through space.

Gman

Touch of the first sage!!! It's the one I can think of. Given the data.

Asher Mack

How many levels between the steps of Divinity?

Asher Mack

The thing with one step is that Villy said it’s something that many nobles and elites of higher mid grades (B and A) have in their arsenal, so it doesn’t feel like it would be really unique to Jake. I could be totally wrong but One Step feels kinda vanilla for what would be a skill of the first and greatest Genius of the multiverse, at least one related to his Legacy. Any thoughts?

jazz

This little reflection really made me realize how fire the story has been post never more. Made the wait worth it 😂

Devillelouch

I agree, Overall they are good. It grounds the reader, gives the author an easy chapter as long as he took good notes, and recaps the arc. This chapter also did the most important element, give a great hook. The Villy chat chapters is going to be great next week...unless it gets interrupted. Dont do it Iludar!

John Durrett

In the simplest terms all restrictions are self imposed. Advancing a skill is like neo starting to believe. There is no spoon, only yourself adjusting your perception of what’s possible by accepting that there are no limits. That distance and 3d is an illusion that can just as easily defined as 2d or a single point at any given time. Drawing a line of single point dots that are each singularities back to a state of nothingness. Our creature ceases to exist as a composite whole

Dlandis

I'd say a typical C grade with a min-max build would have many stats at a minimum of 20k while their main statsnwould float near the 45-50k threshold. Jakes 60k with perception is due to the fact that he realized that perception is the best stat and it's only been boosted by his insane bloodline and his overpowered lollipop.

Dlandis

Jake will always be hard, near impossible to kill. Definitely a peak grade human. I did like this stint into developing his soul space into a future divine realm without Jake seeming to realize it... Reminds me of Daneil-san and Miyagi, without the entire "Sand-The-Floor" scenes.

Aaditya Ravindran

Aren't hectic chosen ones just upgrades after he became one?

Martinus Chrisjan

So, for any interested, I did some (basic) number crunching. Jake's base stats are boosted by titles and skills by an average of about 3500 per stat. His stats are percentage modified by an average of about 80% per stat. If we (erroneously) ignore equipment, higher stats from better classes, and all that other shenanigans that Jake benefits from for the sake of simplicity, we end up with unmodified stats of about 10000 per stat. To be honest, this is probably way too generous to a typical C-Grade. If we allow for some base stat modification and about 10% multipliers per stat for a standard C-Grade, they end up with about 12500 points per stat. Soo my totally janky, lazy estimation comes out at anywhere from 25-40% of Jake's stats for a Standard C-Grade. Not sure if anyone actually cares but I thought it was interesting :)

Tr0LLach

And that skill would do literally nothing to fix Palete

Tr0LLach

These folks be guessin'. I don't think we know at what level A and S grade starts.

Alison Blair

Thanks for the chapter!!!!

William WIlson

Here's a carzy idea. What if most of the skills called system generated skills are actually first Sage legacy skills. One step mile, identify, alchemical flame, brew potion, and so on are all part of the first sages legacies. I mean the first sage was instrumental in providing records during the beginning of the system and what if all the basic skills were actually created by him, but are so basic and been around for so long no one realizes they are actually legacy skills. I mean identify won't work if you don't know what it is, Jake has said he has a hard time identifying rocks and minerals. Plus this would actually fit the first sages path in my opinion. That path being the creation and understanding of the system.

Gabriel Garcia

Legacy of Man

Daniel Hamilton

Just thinking how hard he is to kill now. With his new skill destroying the body isn’t necessarily the end of him.

William WIlson

What if skills that are widely considered system generated skills are actually first Sage legacy skill being reused. So one step, identify, alchemical flame, brew potion, and so on.

William WIlson

Sagacity is a Malefic Viper legacy skill. The first sage helped in its creation yes but it is purely the vipers legacy. Legacy of man could be it but I believe that comes from humans passing on knowledge. I'm sure they first sage being a human had some impact on the skill but I don't think it was created by him specifically. My money is on one step. We literally had the first sage using this skill way back in the earliest days of the system. Villy believes one step is a system skill but what if it's a legacy skill of the first sage and the only one he ever taught was villy when it came to alchemy. What if one step mile is a class skill of the first sage and not part of the legacy villy would have gotten.

Comeback Kid

One step mile.

C0bra$

Thank u for the story

Andrew P

That was Jacob, who was there to collect EHs soul for later resurrection

Asher Mack

My guess is a normal C grade would have at most 7-10,000 stats on average in each category, and maybe a particularly strong C grade 15-20,000. Elites 25-30 ish. I am just spitballing here though.

Asher Mack

Ooooohhh true…. Maybe a red herring though that one would be kinda obvious

Basic

Have we found out who observed Jake and the celestial child’s fight in like part 5 when I first read it so much goes on in the chapter I kinda forgot about it but we never found out right??

Zuuuuuri

My thoughts exactly, that or sagacity but I have my doubts there

Martinus Chrisjan

I would really love to see an example stat page of a "typical" lvl 300 C-grade. It'd help me to contextualise Jake's relative strength. Maybe as an appendix one day, Zog? 🙃

Collateral_ink

B 350. A 500. S 700. Divinity 1000

Basic

It’s not just that even before when he was talking with his patron he was plotting and trying to do something for ages and just overall shady

Basic

Yeh I totally agree I just want him to stop plotting or just plot for them instead it would be a cool side story of Miranda somehow cornering him and somehow “beating him” in politics

Stuart Thwaites

I have a love hate relationship with chapters like this. They are boring all the way to the last paragraph and tease you with that paragraph. Very unsatisfying to read BUT without them books would be absolutely shit.

Marco Ramon

I think the theory has already been mentioned before that the First Sage might have influenced or even taught all the Primordials. Now I had the thought that he might have laid the foundation for all the Primordials to become the first gods. Villy has already said that it was much harder back then compared to now. Maybe the First Sage provided each of the Primordials with some skills or records as a basis for their paths in one way or another. And in Valdemar's case, it could have been the Legacy of Man.

Jose Reyna

TFTC

Azayrian105

I definitely see him getting the skill to be this but I don’t think that is the First Sage’s skill tbh.

Brian Stein

Just gotta say that was a twist I was not expecting at the end of the chapter. Great writing, and as always, thanks for the chapter!

Asher Mack

I forget, but is there a chance the skill in question is Legacy of Man? Or am I tripping?

Asher Mack

If you’re right I’ll give you a kiss

Davey876

My money is on serene soul meditation

Tarodan

I'm gonna get REALLY bonkers here. I think the First Sage's skill is Identify.

Lonnie

B grade is 350 A was 600, I believe

BearHandMan

I’ll go with Alchemical Flame, Bob

Tony Breckenridge

Villy said he’d never seen it upgraded fully?

Tony Breckenridge

TFS used his transcendence to help Villy 1 time, that was the library, right?

Davey876

Can we get an update on what levels for each grade? When does B grade start? What about A grade?

Josh

One step thousand mile?

Davey876

Kindroth would be a better enemy of Miranda than Jake. Kindroth is more of a threat to her anyways.

Jordan Mazza

My head canon is that he will somehow diverge it's path so that one step can take him to his prey no matter where they try to escape to, and become One Step of the Primal Hunter

Asher Mack

Jake is the (second) most talented individual in the history of the multiverse, I think he was going to make it to godhood anyway. But the first sage certainly solidified and helped his path become even more strong

Tyler Owens

The legacy skill is one step mile, it’s gotta be right?

Drew G

Anyone think the first sage set Jake on the first step of becoming a god/divine? Similar to the sage himself as he was only c-grade.

AetherBoye

Bro just has the Words Of Power hyper-transcendent skill. It lets his words do whatever he wants them to do

James Faulkner

Ooooo

Andrew K

I think there's an interesting case that it could be Alchemical Flame. The description is "The flame of an alchemist is one of the most critical aspects of the crafting process. The flame itself is affinity-less and not polluted by the impurities of burning a catalyst. The path to refining one’s alchemical flame is a long and arduous one for all alchemists seeking the pinnacle. Allows the alchemist to create a small alchemical flame, emitting heat. Adds a minor increase to the effectiveness of Alchemical Flame based on wisdom." Some points in favor: - The general concept of purification/refinement/decomposition conceptually fits very well as a key tool for a knowledge-seeker like the First Sage. (He might have even considered the alchemy angle just considered secondary to the knowledge from just breaking things down carefully, or a nice case of hitting two birds with one stone.) - The affinity-neutral and pollution-rejecting nature aspects are arguably quite impressive for such a low-tier skill, and could be a sign that the First Sage put a lot of effort into refining a less-ideal starting-point (while making other compromises to keep it a version of it low-tier). - The relationship with soulflames could be a hint as the soul repair angle the First Sage mentioned near the start of the chapter. - The long upgrade path fits.

greg belokopitsky

Fangs of Man maybe? Valdamar maybe wasn't the first?

Max

Tftc! Its either one step, Serene Soul Meditation or Alchemist purification /flame imo.

Kyler

One step into the horizon

Kyler

One step, One destination

Lion3125

Yeah One Step and Legacy of Man are both strong candidates. My first thought was Legacy of Man too, I honestly didn't think of One Step. Even still I think it's Legacy of Man. It's about teaching and spreading knowledge. If there's one thing the FS would represent, it'd be that, I'd say. Plus it might even be a relevant part as to why that fragment had knowledge from the current era. Because of some links through that. Also: I think it's unlikely that this specific skill came into being without outside influence. And if we're looking at influential humans (system wise, whether they are famous or not) the ones we know are Valdemar and the FS. Legacy of Man definitely wasn't Valdemars

Esch

Legacy of Man is the Human Racial skill. Fang of Man is Valdemar's Legacy Skill

Ty Cooper

I have 2 guesses. From most likely in my guesses to least. One step Legacy of man

Triggerman

One of the skill names got messed up there zogarth, it says “unseen hunter arcane hunter” should be “unseen arcane hunter”

Mat

Was imagining elites of the King Iludar camp trying to ambush and kill a ‘weak and still recovering’ Jake right now

Johnny

Is there a variant spelling of ‘palate’ in the UK or something? Was spelled like this yesterday too

ABTelford

oh! Identify is a very good guess!

ABTelford

oh! Meditation is a good guess.

ABTelford

Ah! Such a satisfying read! I anxiously await the next chapter but I will not die of cliff-hanger-itis. lol! I can't wait to read Villy's reaction though. That old snake deserves some warm happiness action! Thanks Zogarth! and...let the guessing game begin! Im guessing the skill he has from the First Sage is the one that makes Skill Books because - book.

ABTelford

hahahahaha!!!

Mike

I am curious if he will wait til a bit later into C grade though, that is a true B grade and not a weak one at that. Though with it being stuck in one place Jake could totally setup like a planet away and just bombard the moon lol.

Mike

Identify and Legacy of Man are two more mundane ones that I could see it being for sure. One step is a good guess and would be awesome but it almost doesn't fit with what the FS would want to teach.

Stubbsee

Bro isnt surgesting it is The First Sage's legacy skill. Hes pointing out a typo XD

Ty Cooper

😁

Mike

I still don't know if Kindroth is bad though. Like he is a schemer for sure, and King Ilugar did show up to threaten him into taking them to the Holy Church. But does that mean Kindroth is a bad dude? I really don't know.

Ty Cooper

The FS was and is a sly old OP gangsta.

Ty Cooper

Lol I was wondering where the cliffhanger would be. Man I am curious of what the First Sage skill would be. Man that talk with Villy is going to great. I almost feel that the skill he got from the FS is a skill to see forbidden knowledge, but it is a skill he already has so that is not to strong of a guess. Lol who else reread all the skills to see if they can guess which one of the skills it could be. One step is a contender but unlikely. I think it might be legacy of man and a way to scry the history and skills of man, an omniscient skill maybe. I will find it hilarious if just that first little bit gave him another upgrade. So what are your guesses. I also love how sly the FS is. So wonderfully OP. I am enjoying how he slipped him the records.

Pekka Kohonen

Maybe he could do a ritual with the soul of El’Haakan or whatever the name to fix his injury.

Rewdan

Thanks Zogarth I hope you have a great weekend

Kevin Watson

iirc we literally saw the First Sage using One Step, Million Mile

Mat

So all we now know about the First Sage is 1. He was a librarian 2. He breathed transcendent skills making him OP 3. He kill a void dweller god as a C-grade. 4. He was is proud of Villy. I have so many questions🤔

Mattheos Lee

The holy church is so fucked

Thijs Damen

Final skill upgrade is surely just “One Step”.

joel southard

Nice thank you for the chapter

CJ King

I think my guess is a little on the nose but i believe it’s [anomalous arcane soul] simply cause FS directly helped with it similar to how some of villys legacy skills were learned

Chewbacchus

Edit suggestion: 'palete' is more commonly spelled 《palate》

Chewbacchus

More brethren from AR!

pizzadahuttt

I bet its his million step skill

SinCinnamon

It’s his Anomalous Soul!

Jordan

Zogarth!!!!!! No!!!! The weekend!!!!!! 😭

Borbino the great

Or serene soul meditation? I think that’s an option too someone was saying

Daniel Hamilton

Looking forward to the day when he fills his soul space with actual predators, potentially making that much more dangerous to anyone else as well

Basic

I really want him to deal with Kindroth and the desolate child they are just annoying figures plotting in the background

Pekka Kohonen

It has to be a soul skill: "you unlocked the potential of your soul, so I shall give you something to further explore and expand what you can do with it... including a method to address that little soul injury of yours.” I vote: "[Soul Ritualism of the Heretic-Chosen Alchemist (Ancient)]" or [Serene Soul Meditation (Epic)]. It could be that the "Soul Ritualism" would combine with the FS skill and create something new.

Daniel Hamilton

One step space-time continuum. (three dimensions of space and the one dimension of time into a single four-dimensional continuum, although this upgrade would be reached when he’s a God as itd allow him to step through space and time)

PurpleBen

Probably not, as that skill is based on Jake’s arcane mana, which is unique to him

ItsFin

Does legacy skill prevent the racial skill [Legacy of Man (Unique)]? Its the one that lets him pass general knowledge down better right?

Naotsugu97

Cheers for the chappie!

AfroMocha

Why does everyone keep saying one step mile? First and foremost it would not help with Jake’s soul. My guess is it is Gaze or Identify. But it could also be myriad tongues and allow Jake to talk directly to the system lol Edited: like I get with the boots and most of his other skills are viper skills or profession. But I also think that’s a little too obvious. Only thing that kinda makes it work for me is if this allows him to travel much like sandy being able to step from one planet to the next. Able to appear on any planet reguardless of defences. Then I can see that being forbidden knowledge that the system would have balanced

The Uub

There is a lot of conjecture about which skill is a Legacy of the First Sage skill, I can't see it being a Class skill, more likely it's a Race skill, and will change titles to reflect its status as a Legacy skill once the system acknowledges the connection. That being said, with his Soulspace upgrade, I am interested in seeing how Gaze evolves or changes once he uses it again.

Esch

I believe its Serene Soul Medidation. The Sage said that his gift would help Jake heal his wounded Soul.

Josh Hietpas

Everyone thinks its one step, but what if its something super mundane. Let me prepose: identify. If the first safe was all knowing, would it not make sense for him to be able to… you know… identify things?

Tr0LLach

Either the book contains only one skill, which 100% isn't One Step because it wouldn't help Jake fix his soul/palete. Or, there are multiple skills, in which case One Step wouldn't be the 1st skill, for the same reason.

Jordan Mazza

Upgrade path ideas for One Step Mile? One Step Thousand miles (current) One Step Million Miles? One Step World? One Step Universe?

Pekka Kohonen

Would you write a whole book on that though?

Jordan Mazza

Legacy of Man is Valdemar. I remember when Jake and Villy first talked about it that Valdemars legacy pretty much singlehandedly props up the records of all humans, having even increased the base tier of their race. And that Legacy of man was the result of that

Jordan Mazza

Core Manipulation is a Primal Hunter skill, can't be FS legacy. It's Jake's legacy

Jordan Mazza

It occurred right after they defeated the prima guardian and claimed the planetary pylon

Jordan Mazza

Villy would already know due to his bloodline, he can't forget anything even if it becomes forbidden knowledge and according to that post-nevermore conversation with Eversmile, the first sage wasn't always forbidden knowledge. It seems to have only started when Jake upgraded his boots and found the message

Frankie Rose

Can’t wait for the rematch between the b grade on the moon n Jake !!

Endern

According to Villy One Step Mile is originated from the System itself, not bound to any individual and Path. Also having a clear upgrade path. The same can be said about Identify though. With a few key differences: You have to pick up One Step Mile, while Identify is simply given. Identify is closely related to your own knowledge, its upgrades based on the individual using it, not some previously set Path before you.

Allie Fischer

Poor Villy he has to have felt the effects of the first sage messing around with the records in the drop of blood and yet has no idea what has happened.

Hayden Leech

Heeeey wait a minute…….. after Villy killed the First sage the Viper started to perceive System Entities as the First sage. Thats probably what the First Sage was trying to do to Jake lol. Bugger was trying to smuggle some records into our boy!! No idea what that would accomplish but apparently Jakes bloodline wouldnt have liked a passenger riding along.

kinglemur

Wasn’t legacy of man just a racial skill for humans, and the requirement is to believe humans truly are better, Valdemar was just the first to get it? I could be wrong but it feels like with the FS being Forbidden knowledge, everyone forgot that maybe he was apart of creating the legacy of man

kinglemur

I thought that was fang of man not legacy of man

Tr0LLach

It was mentioned that is Valdemar's legacy.

solomon pagan

World leader promotion I think

Tr0LLach

Probably after claiming Earth's pylon when they defeated the Prima Guardian

Tr0LLach

350

Frankie Rose

Isnt he supposed to upgrade from C to B after reaching 299. If anyone can respond it will be very helpful.

Austin Barton

Tftc

Lynderyn

Who knew the origin of One Step is forbidden knowledge. Wonder what will happen when Jake slips up and lets MV know.

Dragon

Firstly your forgetting the book is what will help him heal his soul, that doesn’t mean it’s going to be the first lesson of the first page(although I do think it will be sooner than later, I think it will teach him about the first sages legacy skills first, than move onto healing jakes soul, and finally end on the subject of bloodlines and transcendence possibly having 1 final excerpt on the system itself). Also Legacy of man is Valdemar’s legacy. Two people can’t be the progenitor to the same legacy.

Sam

Agree that the legacy skill is probably one step but would love for it to be shroud. Can someone remind me when he became a Duke? Last I remember he was a marquis

Ify Achu

Good cliff hanger! Tftc!

Dragon

More proof would be the boots Jake has. They have a connection to every primordial and villy did mention 1 step 1000 miles was a common skill option for everyone

Dragon

Nope, 1 step 1000 miles. Don’t forget legacy of man is valdemars legacy skill

Dragon

Legacy of man also can’t be it because that’s valdemars legacy

Dragon

It is one step a thousand miles… In fact its one of the only possible choices, it can’t be any of the Malefic viper, heritic chosen, primal hunter, or avaricious arcane hunter skills. Which only leaves skills like one step mile, craft elixir, alchemical flame, etc.

BumAssBumAss

I like your theories, but I was wondering about one step. Villy previously stated that the upgrade path for the skill is already well defined and known. I think it was mentioned to be related to the system or something, I forget. I originally thought it was legacy of man, but you are right that it conceptually existed even before the first sage. Identify is a good theory. I don't remember much about how Jake upgraded his to see blessings though

John Durrett

mmm. I could go either way. [Unseen Arcane Hunter (Legendary)] can also seem to simple.

Garigis

I believe it has said it was Sagacity a few chapters ago.

John Durrett

Let the "records" show that A. B. Edwards died on a Friday and was Resurrected on a Monday! An offering of "Sage" is placed at the Alter, awaiting your return. ;)

Kain

My money’s on One Step just cause it really is iconic if you’ve read any Xanxia which Primal Hunter takes a lot of inspiration from. In the stories it’s in it’s almost always the most “profound” movement technique with a lot of hidden depths and abilities. Runner up would be meditation I think another “basic” skill that can get utterly ridiculous in the hands of someone like the sage.

John Durrett

To arrive where one wishes by taking a single step; the simplicity of it just feels like a FS attitude. Like watching the cough "battle" with the void beast, monstrous power is revealed with the smallest of gestures. Imagine Jake taking a step in Haven and literally arriving at Villy's home? In a fight, literally being anywhere on the battlefield with Zero limitations. There is depth and concepts implied at something as simple as crossing those distances. What if those underlying concepts are what FS used to "cut" lines of infinity across that void creature? Don't be lulled into sleep by a title as simple as a Step, might get stepped on. ;) Its fun trying to predict what Zog will come up with and there is no shame in learning down the road it was something completely different then we thought. Cheers everyone! To the Future and Beyond!!!

dqmj7vmn6t

Could be Core Manipulation

Sushi

Zog: Let leave everyone on a cliff hehe. Everyone: It’s got to be One Step Mile. Zog: …maybe that conversation with Villy will take 2 chapters to get to

Alexander C Hyde

[Unseen Hunter Arcane Hunter (Legendary)] is this correct? Shouldn’t it just be Unseen Arcane Hunter?

It’s gotta be one step or legacy of man cause The FS is the strongest human to have existed so far

Endern

So the few skills that could be related to the First Sage based on the last couple of chapters: 1. Legacy of Man. FS spoke a lot about how humans were one of the few races that immortalized their knowledge in writing. But this was true even before the system and part of the Human race, so I don't think FS himself is the Origin of it. 2. One Step Mile. FS used a powerful movement skill during the vision of the battle against the Void Dweller. He made the Boots of the Wandering Sage, which have an effect on movement skills. But would it be considered Forbidden Knowledge that this skill was Originally created by FS? Also taking a step to cover more distance feels kind of "basic" considering what an absolute monster FS was. 3. Identify. Peering into the Records of anything you encounter on your Path. The one skill that every being in the multiverse gains as their First one (except Minaga). If anything can be considered a Legacy of a Man who understood Records like noone else in his time (or maybe even since then) and had to be made Forbidden Knowledge to grant it to every other race then my bet is on this.

Robert Phipps Jr (Perren d'Wolff)

Agree'ed. Thinking it might be one step mile myself.

Alex Salamanca

How mysterious, and Zog even listed all of Jake's skills so we could look at them all and theorize

John Durrett

I like this idea because of the simplicity of it. One simply appears where one wishes too by taking the first step. That sounds like a FS belief.

Trevor Mergen

Thanks!

Phasmatic7

Thankies zogie, You torture my by bringing up jakes stream and not updating us on the level of his lil eels

Alexander C Hyde

He also had to get back into his Soulspace to check out the book, but he purposefully delayed that a little for him to be fully calm and back in the right (mindset)mind.

Mohammed Sheekh

The entire multiverse has that lol

Daniel Brian

Thats my guess too!

Nate

[Legacy of Man (Unique)] is my runner up guess, if it was Legacy of the Sage or something number 1 for sure, however the (Unique) rarity keeps me from calling it perfect, with [Serene Soul Meditation (Epic)] seems like a FS "common" rarity and far more room to upgrade and as an upgrade could repair the soul

Shaibene

Im not sure if the first sage did alot for the legacy of man and he didn’t really propogate his path or his family line, Valdermar is a more likely originator of that skill. 1 step arrow, 1 step stun, 1 step 1 million doomfeet lol has to be 1 step

Rad

My problem with legacy of man, identify, and meditation is that they’re all race skills and it doesn’t seem like they’d be easy to make a legacy skill, if legacy of man is even able to be altered without changing the race entirely. Identify also seems like a natural skill that he might only have some input on with mediation being something I could see him putting his hands on. The problem being that I think specifically mentioning that Jake had one of his legacy skills means that most people wouldn’t so it probably wouldn’t be a racial skill. Especially because I don’t think the First Sage would make his legacy skills about being human without how he seemingly doesn’t care about race at all.

Crjourdan

I highly doubt it is any of those. Heretic-Chosen is another only Jake has walked, and the first sage can not be a chosen because gods didn’t exist when he was alive. So none of those choices make sense.

NSaaby

First Sage’s Legacy skills. Legacy of man?

JB

I was originally thinking I was legacy of man but one step is a strong possibility. Didn't he 'step down' during the fight at one point? Thatcould be a clue

Drana :D

Yeah I feel like people kind of ignore that part

Shaibene

1 step os my guess considering he has the sages boots of a wandering alchemist

Nate

you are the first comment I have read that mentioned this, it is why I also chose [Serene Soul Meditation (Epic)] as my guess. I understand why people think one step, identify, or Legacy of man but they don't feel right as a soul repair skill

Namorat

Looking forward to Villy and Jake talking about this :)

NovaZero

Or be a Librarian/Nerd

Daniel Smith

My guess is one step

Aaditya Ravindran

Hmm. My top guess is the [Soul Ritualism of the Heretic-Chosen Alchemist] skill. My second pick would be [Legacy Teachings of the Heretic Chosen Alchemist] and my third [Palette of the Malefic Viper]. Here's why. 1. It wouldn't make much sense for any unique or mythical skill to be the one. Although it would be nice to see Sagacity at a higher rarity (if that could happen) 2. It can't be any skill common to many people, since that would mean that quite a few people have the First Sage's legacy skill. So we can rule out One Step. 3. It can't be any class other skills which are archery related. 4. We know that somehow all primordials share a connection with the First Sage, and all primordials have a divine realm. 5. We also know that Villy has FS's legacy skills, which could mean it's one of the "of the malefic viper" skills.

Andromeda Adams

Was the First Sages legacy skill One Step Thousand Mile? Tyftc!

Seamus Harley

lol, imagine if the first sage is the origin of the identify skill, no idea what that upgrade would include but it would be fascinating

Mat

My first guess given his speed when he killed the void dweller but Villy said that skill was from the system and had a very clear upgrade path to level no one has reached.

BrotherKlaus

Zog gives us hints, and then cliffhangers, then tells us. This would make tons of sense, and now that we’ve seen FS fight, it clicks together.

BrotherKlaus

Just because it’s common, doesn’t mean it’s not a legacy skill. Think about the vipers legacy skills, tons and tons of the orders member have one or more of his skills, even without a blessing from Villy. There’s an entire department store for gear for viper legacy skills. The fact that the FS created so many skills, it’s not surprising the System decided to start throwing those out as it is a good skill, and he did it way way back in the first era, so it’s been available by the system since. But if the FS is forbidden knowledge, then it makes sense that the description wouldn’t include a reference to him.

Griffin Kardos

One step makes sense, but doesn't fit with the other things FS was saying about his legacy. How would One Step help Jake heal his soul? (though knowing the first sage maybe he gets freaky metaphorical with his steps). Meditation fits better, but is kinda boring. So my out of left field guess is: [Legacy of Man (Unique)] – The human race has been around since the very first Era, and has stood on the pinnacle from the beginning. This is not simply due to extraordinary individuals in your midst, but your ability to stand on the shoulders of your ancestors and pass down Records. While each human’s lifespan may be short, your race’s collective knowledge is perennial, and through generations, humanity will prevail. Allows you to far more effectively pass down Records and makes anyone you teach far more likely to unlock new paths. Not only would it be mind blowing, but it actually perfectly fits with the First Sage, and has everything to do with records. Plus: "While each human’s lifespan may be short, your race’s collective knowledge is perennial". Doesn't this feel like how the first sage reached the end of his lifespan near the start of the first era but is also somehow still kicking? Edit: furthermore, going back to the very first chapter in this arc, Jake inexplicably thinks: "Then what about Records that were erased but someone still remembered... what if memories existed that only a single person in the entire history of the multiverse remembered and had seen?" I'm pretty sure the FS's immortality has to do with memory and, of course, records. The fact that Villy got his bloodline means that the first sage will never be forgotten, even when he becomes forbidden knowledge, ensuring his immortality in a sense. Memories and records leaving an immortal legacy - Legacy of Man feels like a perfect description of all the first sage's BS

Frederik

i think it might be "one step" its seamingly simple and still enormesly powerfull with an upgrade path straight to divine levels

Sarianne Roodenburg

Lol, seems lots off speculating is going to be happening during the weekend. What skill will it be? Identify; Serene soul meditation; One step, thousend miles; ? As Legacy of man is a unique skill, it can't be upgraded so that one is out. My guess would be on the meditation skill, but I guess we'll see monday 😄

Luke Hefter

Right like I need the next chapter pronto lol. Gonna be itching all weekend for Monday

Bladehawk256

The more I read other comments the more Indentify makes sense lmao

Bryce Boo and the Mystery Crew

Good chapter

Aaditya Ravindran

Villy said that the one step skill suite was pretty common to get. So, doesn't that mean quite a few people have the first sage's legacy skill? So I'm guessing that's not it.

Sarianne Roodenburg

Think it was fang of man he picked up during that vision and legacy of man was a racial skill gained during the evolution to D or C grade

JJB4345_80_815

Yes, thank you for the chappy Zogarth!

Sarianne Roodenburg

Love the chapter, looking forward to Monday, luckily the cliff we're hanging on isn't to big this weekend and we should all survive hanging on 😅

FerrumMike YT

The legacy skill can be something really basic that can turn into a monster class it could also be a race skill like serene soul meditation because it would fit with the first sage’s path and legacy being all about knowledge

Nate

[Serene Soul Meditation (Epic)]? TFTC

JJMand

Considering all the soul stuff, I am partial to think it is his meditation skill, “Serene soul meditation”.

Ove Schorer

speak

Ove Schorer

but how do you upgrade "tongues" he can already talk every language

Penko

I think it is Identify

Kt-x

Thanks for the chapter!!

Alex Serov

Cool can’t wait to find out more about „Brew Potion [Uncommon]“

Christopher Torres

WTF?!!!!!!!!! Thanks for chapter zog

Mohammed Sheekh

Majority of the comments saying one step, isn't that too predictable? Surely zog would think so too, perhaps it could be something else that's related but also unlikely

Fucking Shracc

One Step, Thousand Miles

Mohammed Sheekh

Hmm I can see endless tongues being his skill since he's a scholar, I hope its not one step since its too predictable to be honest

Cory Sauls

TFTC!

Loststar7

TFTC.

Seiryus

Is it One Step?

Jordan Rogers

Wouldn’t surprise me with one step, that FS personally mentored all the primordials at some point, but only Villy remembers him due to forbidden knowledge and villy’s can’t forget ability

Timothy Reichert

It would also explain the boots.

SilverSentry

Tftc. I don't think it's serene soul meditation. He could have potentially upgraded both soul skills at the same time if that were the case. I think it's either one step, or legacy of man. All things considered this is a not a normal cliff hanger.

hachetnif

What if it's Shroud of the primordial. We Suspect that the first Sage had a hand in Creating the primordials. So it's possible. But I don't think it's that one Really deeply. Most likely it's one of the Rasal skills and he said that would help him develop his soul, So that is more credence, For skills That deal with records

Adam

Nah the skill is for sure one step, thousand miles. Jake bought that skill from the tutorial and the FS kinda melded with the system imo.

Timothy Reichert

I’m just going to assume it’s a class skill. Identify was given to all and wouldn’t need some special unlock. Villy’s skills are his legacy so not those. All race skills are Jake’s or his heretic path. Going by how the FS fought with just transcendent and even commented that his fighting style wouldn’t help Jake at all. That pretty much only leaves one step a skill that Jake bought that apparently originated from the “system ”.

Jacob

The skill has. To be one step a thousand miles

A. B. Edwards

And he does it again. These damn cliff hangers will be the death of me.

Kjell

It thik either on step or endless Tongues. But I tendent more to Tongues

Jonathan Hovey

I'm going to guess that the legacy skill is One-Step. TFTC

BrotherKlaus

Seconded!

BrotherKlaus

My guess is One Step! Think about it and all the FS times he really did something in a fight or was moving through the void.

Jordan Rogers

That was my guess aswell

BrotherKlaus

Nah, One Step. That’s my guess.

Jordan Rogers

We taking votes on which skill?

BrotherKlaus

The answer was hiding in front of us this entire encounter! It’s One Step, that’s my guess. It’s the one skill that isn’t really his own in any way, and he purchased it way back after the tutorial. It’s been mentioned that One Step is a series of skills that always upgrade on a set path, and every time FS really did something in the fight with Jake or the Void Dweller, he stepped down. Very thematic with the boots, and the whole ‘heading out on the journey’ description.

Part of the C-Grade evolution, adds 10% bonus to Perception, Agility and Endurance. It also gave a one time bonus of 550 to those stats. And an alignement bonus.

BumAssBumAss

I want to think the first sage's legacy skill is legacy of man, but it is also a unique skill. The only other option is "fangs of man" but that is valdemar's It's definitely none of Jake's class skills or "of the primal hunter" or "of the malefic Viper" skills. Jake's other unique skills have no relationship with the first sage either.

Jordan Rogers

Chapter is great

One step thousands miles getting upgraded!

Guessing that legacy skill is "One Step, Thousands Miles"?

Red45jimster

I think it's legacy of man

Mohammed Sheekh

I bet its serene soul meditation, you don't get that strong without having an absurdly strong soul, so it's definitely gotta be that

eatingpitza314

Typo (I think) [Unseen Hunter Arcane Hunter (Legendary)] - I don't think there is suposed to be 2 hunter

Legacy of Man, Fangs of man, or that walking technique since he has the boots.

Great chapter !

Legacy of man

Sammot

I was thinking the same thing! And that the sage was going way to fast before the void god fight, by using one step!

Drana :D

Some kind of restore skill because he hinted at helping him recover from him soul damage

Profile Name

Any bets on what witch skill it is referring to. My bet is on ”Serene Soul Meditation”

SetherAedekae

Holy shit I bet ur right

Rid

I wonder if the legacy skill to be upgraded is one step, thousand miles? Im not sure what else it could be!

Zack Leach

Thanks for the chapter! Can't wait to find out villy's take on everything. I also wonder if villy will be able to see the fragment through his blood droplet if Jake conducts a specific ritual or something so villy doesn't need to use a transcendent skill again.

Lizy Flore

Okay I’m betting Legacy of Men for the FS Legacy Skill. Why ? Well, first, they are both human. Second, I recall that Jake pick up the skill while witnessing the fight between Valdemar and Villy at peak S-grade… and we already know that the FS has karmic ties to all primordials. I’d say it’s a pretty safe bet to assume the FS passed on a bit of his own legacy onto each of the primordial (exemple: eternal mind or sagacity for the viper, legacy of men for valdy, etc). Only a theory though. Well, at least this time, Zogarth took pity on us and ceased that awful serie of cliffhangers.

Nate Slusher

As a wrap up chapter, this felt perfect.

dragonslaver

Identify, turning into some kind of all knowing legacy skill

Stubbsee

I feel like it has to be the Legacy of Man racial skill. it seems like such a thing the first sage could do to add that skill to humanity.

Identify!

Rad

I think One Step is probably the legacy skill instead. It’d make too much sense for many of the systems “fully laid out path” skills to be skills the First Sage had.

Sammot

Its one step isnt it! In the part where he killed the void god jakes said he went faster than even sandy would be at s-grade! Next time he gets to buy things at a system shop after a event he has to ask for first sage legacy skills!

Tr0LLach

Identify?

Noah Mclelland

Make your bets people's, which skill is it?!?

Kalle

One step getting upgraded!

Jana

Good Call - I think I remember Villy saying that there was so much more about that skill.

Ritsu

Okay, now THAT'S a mean cliffhanger. For real, I am wracking my brain which one it could be. You'd think it's one of the Viper Legacy Skills, as presumably Villy based those one what he learned from the First Sage, but that wouldn't really be that big of a bombshell, would it? So maybe a Race skill? If it was something like Legacy of Man, that would be insane since that would mean literally every human at D-grade or higher carries the legacy of the First Sage. But I also don't think Villy wouldn't know about his master having such a big impact on humanity. Ugh my mind is going in circles now. Thanks for the chapter.

dragonslaver

I call identify!

One step is probably the legacy skill

The legacy skill. It’s one step thousand miles. The one he bought from the system with tutorial points. Gotta be.
