Seeing what he has done so far, im pretty sure that the one thing he has not properly done when it comes to alchemy is making potions, pills, or artifacts designed for others to ingest. While what he has not successfully done as a heretic or chosen, is profess/represent his views on his patron. Sure he went to the pantheon of life as an ambassador for the order, but he didn't do so at the request of the viper, or in opposition of the viper. Which leads me to the fact that the one thing that would successfully prove his path as an alchemist and as a heretic/chosen would be to create that grimoire for his path. What better proof of his path than to transform the devout, convert the heretics into an amalgam path of respectful defiance. That and the system has made it clear that it really wants the path to be more available.

I’m actually hoping Jake gets a quest for his alchemy that he actually has to work on instead of just breezing through it - and he’ll be all shocked or something. 😏. His arrogance needs a small knockdown. And Villy will say “well of coarse, did you expect a free ride until godhood? Please, you’re a freak but not that big of a freak.” Or something. Razz him Villy, tease and roast! 😜. Oh and I think there’s an autocorrect mistake “The Risen had forced himself to appear strong, but it was evident he was close to peeling over simply by standing.”. Peeling should be KEELING over.

I think Zog might not being doing specifically that because on the premise that upgrading his skills at his current grade takes a lot of effort and time. It would require Zog to have to either greatly extend how long it would be before Jake evolves (which would mean stagnating at lvl 349), or somehow have Jake upgrade a lot of his skills from some miracle enlightenment.

Before Jake evolves to B grade, I would have really loved for him to remember to upgrade some of his skills to be like the "of Horizons Edge" skills that he passed up on in multiple skills selections. Like when he "goes beyond his limits" to increase skill power to put it on a temporary cool down period

I doubt this theory but i wonder if he could get a professional evolution quest telling him to use his jake juice on an enlightened species. I have the feeling it won't be the case as I feel like that would be the system forcing the person to do something that could have bad consequences outside of something like a failed hunt or failed poison brewing leading to injury or death.

Hey I was just thinking that Jake can now create a construct with his arcane affinity and eat it with palate. then he can learn all those hinted concepts that are a part of the affinity. And now he can also peek in on those concepts to amplify them thru gate of enlightenment. will really speedboost the affinity.

Tyftc! I can't wait until Jake gets back to Earth and realizes that his nephew, Adam, is just about old enough to get his own class and profession. Maybe his profession quest/levelling can even involve teaching Adam so he acquires the profession of Malefic Alchemist? It would make sense with Jake doing all of his teaching in C-grade. Just to confirm my math. Adam was about 3.5 years old after Nevermore. Then, the Prima Guardian event took about 2 years to arrive and lasted about 5 years, putting Adam at 10.5 when it ended. Afterwards, Jake spent at least two years at the Pantheon of Life, putting Adam at 12.5 years old. Finally, Jake just finished about 1.5 years of dungeon grinding, putting Adam at about 14 years old now, unless I'm missing more stuff. Edit: I missed the 3 or so years that Jake was focused on crafting Dragonsbane poison. Adam is nearly an adult by pre-system standards.

His profession quest could be interesting, since his path is more or less stealing Villy's and making it his own. I wouldn't be surprised if there are quests that hint at him needing to divert his legacy skills more, while continuing to take from the original concepts that comprise them?

Honestly im expecting the class quest to be completed with something like "1: Defeat a Chosen of an antagonistic GOD to the Malefic Viper." "2: Set the seeds for more Heretics" (completed when he wrote the tome of ashkasic records.) "3: Craft a potion or poison above the common C ranks variety" The bane Poison. Remember his profession is not alchemy, but a Heretic-Chosen Alchemist of the Malefic Viper and thus the quest should cover all three aspect of the profession.

He does have these bits of his enemies, Yip of Yore and the red-face guy, that he got. I think he was supposed to "digest" them. Doing this would bring his professional levels up to snuff as well.

Hopefully his quest has all the alchemy components completed other than maybe branching out to another form of alchemy , but he had to convert someone else to a heretic chosen , using the ability to make skill books

I hope that he doesn't have a race quest because it's absence would totally stump everyone and thus be very funny, but I hope his Alchemy quest kicks his ass. I have no idea what it could be other than upgrading all his legacy skills or maybe some heretical concepts, but I hope it's hard. I kind of want the sword saint to get to B rank first and become a chosen, and have an epic fight against Our Big Boy, so some stall would be nice.

Most gods don’t choose their chosen until A or S grade because of the risks of early death. Feel like all these young chosen is just a trend to hitch onto Jake’s records and karma, but to all non gods or normals B grade is when people begin to be untouchable, I mean Jake can like for hundreds of thousands of years atleast at B grade so he’s basically an immortal to normal people

I could see that happening, but it's also been emphasized by Artemis that he is an exceptionally talented alchemist so maybe not. Additionally, his profession isn't just alchemy but also being heretic and chosen which by all measures he seems to have knocked out of the park.

Thanks for the chapter! All of a sudden I’ve had a change of heart. I’ve been over- eager for the B-grade evolution, but now I want to see Jake get stuck with some ridiculous profession- evolution- quest. The idea that his alchemy is too narrow focused had been banged around before, and he could use some humbling anyway.

We’ve heard a little about the Neurotar now and a second mention of them. We know Villy had backstabbed them after the heist for the magus orb he stole. I’m wondering if Zogarth is setting it up that they will be the unknown faction in the dark coming after Jake and the ones behind the attempted abduction. Would love to see those guys and the civilization they created after 90+ eras in the dark.

Is he finally going to start with desolation experiments? It would be the perfect time for it right bevor his evolution. Even if he looses an arm and a leg to desolation experiments, the system will just restore it for him during evo. Feels kinda weird that even with the lost child arc and the planet core in his possession, he hasn't tried to push touch or fangs in that direction. Villys legacy seems to heavily focus on desolation, especially in B grade.
