But they are still connected to the rest of the multiverse meaning in theory the holy church could endlessly teleport new troops over. It would be a stalemate once again and the deciding question would be who is willing to invest more resources. Rigoria most likely would support the church to get rid of Vespy so Jake would involve himself to save her and it could culminate in a way to massive war nobody wants to fight. Not to mention all the political implications since I don’t think the endless empire would want to fight the holy church on such a public stage in such official fashion

Honestly 5 a week is already a lot. Dunno how much time it takes to write a chapter every day but forcing themselves to write a lot in a short time is usually how authors burn out. I’d rather he post consistent than mass releases with burnout in the middle

Possibly, though more likely than not it would become more of a reconsolidation similar to the viper's. It's possible that it is the plan from the beginning and thats why jake's existence threw so much of a wrench in things, because it began speeding up a methodical plan. More importantly I'm still holding tight to the idea that the blightfather and the Church's Mother are in a relationship, so this could just help them keep their conflict going without driving a wedge between them.

Of all the maincast… I actually think Jacob will be the one who doesn’t reach godhood. He has already said a few times that it’s a ridiculous act of hubris to assume you will become a god. And that unwavering faith , that basic assumption that you will attain divinity is the minimum. He has kind of shot himself in the foot with his mindset.

Would Vesperia be a good counter to a holy church incursion? Both use disposable troops… but it takes a lot longer to make a functional human or other race than it takes to produce a comparable drone… And the holy church could sacrifice a planets population to shred an ectognamorph army in a great ritual… but there’s another one coming. And another one after that.

Jacob gets a lot of hate but I actually love his character. I feel like he may be the first Earthlings to achieve godhood and he'll do so by brokering peace between the holy church and the Risen with a bit of help from Jake probably.

I’m surprised that so many comments seem to think Jacob will become a heretic because I’ve been feeling it’s the complete opposite. It seems like Jacob’s path is very similar to what I would imagine the Holy Mother’s early path was—a leader taking over the church through charisma, political acumen, and sincerity and because everyone else is incompetent and it’s for the “greater good” (and it probably actually is because the HM created the best faction for the average regular person and Jacob seems to be starting to drive the church in his universe in the right direction).

Honestly, I really like Jacob. His character evolution is really interesting. Even way back in the tutorial he very much wanted to be a rule follower. Now he’s spend quite a bit of time having to decide what to do when the rules are nonsensical or even have the potential to harm lots of people but the people in charge don’t seem to care. Way back since the Ell’Hakkan arc when it was revealed that Jacob was doing little things to foul up Ell’Hakkan’s plans, I’ve always thought Jacob had the potential to become another heretic like William after realizing that following his Patron is in direct conflict with his Path. And now they’re talking about Jacob potentially having a partner and a kid? I wouldn’t be surprised if he eventually flees the HC like the cult it is. And the idea of a Heretic Auger is really fun. I’ve always thought Jake and his Earth crew would end up as their own pantheon and Jacob could fit into that.

This whole seat of the exalted prima thing is a fun idea. I see it being a round table type deal with all of the major factions having a say in whatever it is, chaired by Jake. And by that I mean chaired by Miranda. On that note, it would be fun to have like a side chapter where Miranda, Viridia, and The Sisters are sitting around in the lagoon having a vent session, the other four looking on in wide eyed horror as Miranda starts badmouthing Jake

That’s to presume that pre integration stuff Like the two galaxies slowly merging is still occurring. I don’t think it is. We also know that everything has grown massively, earth is the size of the old sun. So the distance between the two galaxies should be much greater than it was. I do agree that some leaders are going to try to attack Jake and the Milky Way and things are going to go poorly for them.

Still not a fan of Jacob, mostly because I am not a fan of the Holy Church pantheon. This chapter is making me think that there are going to be a couple Holy Church leaders that attempt to attack the Milky Way and Jake going on a rampage destroying several of them. Not that it is a big deal because I am sure there will by some sort of system BS to prevent it, but Andromeda and the Milky Way are moving towards each other and are supposed to merge in about 4 billion years. Which is a long time, but less so in the time scales of the multiverse. There are also several other small galaxies that are on a path to merge with the Andromeda and Milky Way during that time, some are even currently merging. Once again, by the time this possible merger happens this story will probably come to a conclusion with Jake having to become a god to have survived to see it. We all know that Jake will take the lead role in the Seat of the Exalted Prima event. It just makes sense with how Jake is portrayed in this story. I do see the event being the crux for the demise of several characters in the story. I am assuming that several of the other factions fighting for the seat will ally with Jake to guarantee they have a seat under Jake's rule.

Something I've been wondering: it sounds like a mere C-Grade getting together with a God is something almost unheard of. But the Viper took the Witches of the Verdant Lagoon as his "women" when they were shortly before B-Grade. Is it just weird that Jake and Artemis have a genuine relationship, or were the Witches another massive exception to the rule?
