It was discussed ages ago, sometime soon after the tutorial. The system injects credits into the economy in various ways, and merchants and others like them, have skills/quests/something that allows them to create credits as well. I assume there are millions of other ways, especially for the great factions and empires, to create credits. Also, remember the discussion when he was heading to the order for the first time that not all credits are created equal. Credits from the 93rd universe were massively more valuable in the beginning than multiverse credits.

Madisyn

I have a question, that just popped up in head. Everyone got credits while in the tutorial, but is that the only way credits came to be? Because if you sell stuff to others they would use their credits. So after the tutorial there is a finite number of credits that only diminish as more people die. Or is there another way to get credits that I didn’t notice?

Jeryd Greer

This well written. Start a RR account and write deeply specific lore of the imagine Brjenness interview series.

Alejandro Mora

Just as Jake's energy has aspects of creation and destruction, will the energy of his bloodline, apart from origin, also have an end aspect?

Josie

I like to imagine that no matter how big or powerful Villy gets, our snek still enjoys a good heat lamp. It's my absurd headcanon that he's lounging under one while watching his favorite livestream

Michael

I’m glad Zog is not doing the weekend cliffhangers

Interesting Friday cliff

Mister Author man. shabba shabba. Mister Author man. shabba shabba... the music faded as the stage lit up and thunderous applause poured out of the sound system drowning out the boos and the hisses of the patreons. brjenness walked out onto stage holding both hands high waving to the crowd in a textbook example of false modesty. wearing a white t shirt covered in cheetoh dust and pizza sauce and mountain dew stains that failled so fabulously at covering his beer belly that it might as well have been a half shirt, he removed his fedora and bowed to the crowd until he felt his toupee slipping and he quickly put the fedora back on and stood up straight. after pulling his cargo shorts back up, he waddled across the stage. his lime green crocs squeaking with every step. "welcome to Lorem Ipsum, the podcast where we, the readers, ask your favorite authors our most important questions." sitting down in the worn out blue and black gamers chair placed center stage, he took a second to recover from the long walk and picked up the two liter bottle of mountain dew downing several large gulps. "Today is the day you've all been waiting for. the most requested Author has agreed to answer one question. The one, the only, the most malefic cliff hanger loving Author on the planet, Zogarth has agreed to take a few minutes of time away from his safari hunting a rare monkey species to extinction in the Congo and join us today !!!!!" this time the crowd's cheers joined the ones coming from the sound system. "Our question for the malefic one, have you ever written a line, action, or character decision that you expected to be the most talked about part of the chapter only to have the comment section not even mention it or written a throw away line or inconsequential action that you used to just move the conversation or story along and had it brought up in the comments for days?" brjenness rose and urged the crowd to its feet. "join me in summoning the malefic one. Zogarth, zogarth, zogarth. please bless us with your wisdom." a large projection lit up the back of the stage with...nothing but static as white noise played on the speakers. "we seem to be having some technical difficulties." brjenness frantically explained before running off the stage that was being pelted with rotten tomatoes. exactly two hours later a man in a wooden mask appeared on the screen and said with a slight accent. "hello? hello? I don't think anyone is there. let's get back to hunting those damn monkeys."

Biggy smalls

It probably wouldn't be possible since Eversmile can only use it on less powerful individuals. Considering the Multiversal level influence FS still has (without most even knowing about it). I doubt he'd have had the power to erase him from history. Villy also noted that Eversmile can learn about FS if he follows enough breadcrumbs back to him.

Chris Connolly

Random completely off topic question: have we considered that the first sage being forbidden knowledge is because eversmile used his transcendence to make it so? Maybe even under a similar agreement he had with Villy to kill him?

Josie

Jacob is gonna be derping hard until he gets his Augur profession again lol

Josie

My old theory that Jake is growing exponentially and will slay his first god mid S is looking more plausible. He's a baby B and feels good about his chances for taking down a Peak B. Utterly broken boy

Endern

So what if the tests are the previous System Events? The next one would be the Treasure Hunt with the Monarch of Blood as the boss and with Jake and SS as the competition. Also William, Holstred and Northpeak Wyvern haven't experienced it yet. Would be fun to see how they approach it.

Eden

I find it ironic, how jake and mirandas roles are flipped atm lol, shes off hunting getting steonger ect, while jakr is forced to do diplomatic shit

brjenness

Bertrand should be a badass in this scenario. trained before integration and trained by church. should be similar to nonsystem pro fighter or high tier operator vs untrained desk jockeys.

brjenness

akkkkssschuallllyyy, he evolved from gecko to chameleon to iguana to wyvern

brjenness

OK...not trusting random internet strangers, I checked book 12 somewhere not to far before page 178 and confirmed that wyvern told jake he was an iguana. Mondays chap will begin with miranda asking wyvern why he told jake he was an iguana and he confesses he thought they were cooler than geckos.

i wonder if the arachnecs and the venusians are so against each other the arachnecs prefer coffee over tea

Anonymous

There's a solid 50% chance that they serve Jake mushrooms

brjenness

I was hoping someone else would fess up first but... Holsted spent most of his time defending, not because they needed defending, but because of the third member of the party... who else thought for at least a few seconds that William went horror movie villain again?

tigerfishie

Tyftc!

Patty O’Cartnoy

Are you sure that you're not getting that from Jake calling him an iguana snarkily, or just taking a guess, or something like that? You might be right, I don't remember. Just throwing the possibility out there

Rewdan

I’m not sure I’d like to go for tea with the undead spiders

Rewdan

Thanks Zogarth for a great weeks reading

brjenness

i'm thinking it has to do with both strength and helping others gain strength. which makes me think miranda oopsied a little by not bringing some of the npc's along. no idea how zog is going to play this out.

Josie

So is the WW itself gonna be everyone doing a simulated level 0 Battle Royale?

Gabe Stankiewicz

Hey Zogarth, I thought the wyvern was an iguana, not a gecko when he was on earth during the tutorial? There’s also no way Miranda would ever mistake an iguana for a gecko. Just an observation! Either way, I don’t really care. I laughed my ass off at the big bad wyvern turning into a little lizard so thank you for the laugh and thank you for the chapter!! 💜🙏

Lemonsqueezy

Zog often has references or influences from other stories. A lot of anime stuff like how DBZ is written. So it is entirely possible that he got influence from that.

joel southard

Thank you for the chapter.

Lemonsqueezy

That and he really doesn't level fast. He has so many stipulations on what he gets experience for. The creatures have to be higher level than him and even then they have to pose a challenge. Jake also gets diminishing returns when he fights the same creatures over and over. This is balanced by making each level Jake gets boosts his power significantly. Jake is built to fight things a lot more powerful than he is, so the system requires him to do just that.

Island Relics

I always love seeing more Miranda!!! Could I please have more

Lemonsqueezy

My comments about your suggestions in order: It natural speaking people tend to be redundant when they speak. It doesn't need to be there, but it isn't exactly wrong for it to be said. I think Zog was referring to the LitRPG, SciFy, or fantasy genres of stories. It is a little vague but that is what I think he meant. Group of helpers, or just drop the "the" making it "ended up with quite competent helpers" Yeah this one is weird. Maybe "I am still not, but I have gotten better" That or "Jake mostly ignored the undead spider's attempts" "Their" is correct. The spider is referring to the Venusians teleportation.

Lemonsqueezy

Well that is mean. I like it.

Lemonsqueezy

Many ex-girlfriends/lovers come to mind. I learned that drinking tequila is probably something I should only do when I am at home.

Lemonsqueezy

At least it wasn't a cliffhanger that made us all calling him an asshole lol. I think this one was a good end of the week cliffhanger.

Lemonsqueezy

Eh, Jake absolutely dominated his tutorial. We would have also had a lot more chapters about this and do we really want to relive book one? Also there was already the Nevermore chapter where Jake was in a situation where he was regressed back to level 1. It seems that the chosen tutorial was based on the leader of the group (Miranda's tutorial in this case). If Jake did this it would be his tutorial which the objective was to become the leader of everyone alive in the tutorial. Which Jake would have almost immediately became because of his skills and established role, and who he would have brought with him. The chapter stated that Jake would have brought the Forest King (natural D-Grade), maybe Syphie (who was born as a D or C grade i cannot remember), Vespa (may or may not have joined), and who knows who else who were born naturally way too strong to make the tutorial even a challenge. With Jake being the only surviving member of his original tutorial it would mean that he would probably just immediately kill everyone and everything on the map as soon as it began. The Forest king alone would have made this process take a couple days max. The other option would have just been to go and immediately kill the tutorial Forest King and the 4 other champions if needed. TL;DR: I don't think it would have been a very interesting chapter for Jake to do this.

brjenness

first sage has determined the time is right to rejoin the universe without dominating it too much.

brjenness

I think people would realize that jake is both more monstrous and more multi-faceted then they previously believed as they fail to come close to his score. and respect for hus teammates would also increase.

Fylbrom

Maybe it was a geko before an iguana and just wasn't smart enough to remember? Lol or Zog forgot. But you are correct. When we first meet the Wyvern when Jake finally talks with it, yes, he describes his early system days as an iguana.

Fylbrom

Pipe down there Jr. Marine, there is no need to get all boogity just because the comment section isn't as 'clean' as you want. People will be people, worry about yourself. 🤣

MarineDebris

People, authors have editors for a reason. Every day, there are people commenting "fixes" for the chapter and/or story, whether corrections on word usage, or on the story itself. That said, I'm not sure if any of you read a certain author's note-maybe a year or so ago-where Zog basically told everyone that does this to shut the fuck up about what he writes or don't read his shit, but I'll save you the trouble. Stop trying to correct him. You're not his editor. This is not your story. If you want a story that caters to your OCD, write it yourself. That is all.

BumAssBumAss

I feel like it would've been an interesting character moment for Jake to revisit his tutorial. He doesn't ignore 'npc' characters after all. A shame

Will the world wonder let you simulate other life experiences as well? First they got to experience why would have happened if there life before the integration would have taken a different path and how that would have changed their integration. Jake got his other Jake out of that experience. Now for the administration question, some people get to relive their tutorial. What do you think would happen, if Jake and the others would get the chance to relive their nevermore experience? And get benefits and improvements out of it?

Mrburns93

Does anyone else find it suspicious that jakes bloodline and Jake juice is about seeking the origin while at the same time the world wonder is about seeking the origin as well? We've seen a few of these simulations now and they all seem to focus on going back to the beginning. The origin of a choice, the origin of one's time in the system. It seems well aligned to Jake. Is that just coincidence or is the system attempting to use Jake to find something. Also I believe the "faction" that attempted to kidnap Jake in the void may have been the system. The system takes the souls of the dead to recycle right? And it was confirmed dead god who attacked. And what ever force behind the kidnapping attempt can hide even from primordials? It may not even be the system but a church that worships the system like the primordial church but for the system. Imagine the weird skills they would get. Also I am extremely excited for this regression to jakes tutorial. I hope its like yelsten in how long it is

Any clunk may be intentional as these creatures likely do not benefit from social aptitude and have an alien (likely Zerg-like from what I've seen) mentality from humans

Devin Trero

If I remember correctly, didn't the wyvern say it started as an iguana?

beeve

Journey before destination

CallHimDan

Doublecliff, fantastic

Yiskah

Zogarth: "“Like? A statement inferring stat allocation is partly by choice for your race" Infer is something the listner does. (Gleem information reading between the lines) Imply is what the speaker does. (Offer info between the lines not outright stated). So you sentence ought to be: “Like? A statement which implies stat allocation is partly by choice for your race" Or “Like? A statement from which I can infer that stat allocation is partly by choice for your race" Except both of those sound clunky and you should write something better.

beeve

Thought we might get a little more on Jake today but that’s okay

Quantainium C

It would probably be a king of the hill type event for some sort of natural resource.

I wonder what this experience would be for an Administrator Candidate that didn't have a tutorial at all. There's got to be plenty of them across the universe that either had the monster style experience with the integration or came into being one way or another after it. If the common guess is right that they're doing each participant's in sequence maybe we'll see when they get to the lizard.

Sean

Hey at least it isn’t a water level with mushrooms…

Xander

TFTC :) Not arguing in the slightest about the "in Venus" thing. I think its just the fact that the word is Venus. If it was phrased "in this minor world" it wouldnt seem odd. Similarly if it was phrased "mission in Earth" it would sound odd. Quirk of my brain i guess. I though the Wyvern evolved from an Iguana? Oh and my call for the next part of mirandas trial is "The Treasure Hunt" :) Hopefully she doesnt pussy out this time and gets stuck in to the head vampire. Have a great weekend all and I'll see you bright and early on Monday :) Suggested edits: "tried to go *beyond their starting area* and *had not tried to explore the entire Tutorial area* " Redundant. Both of these mean pretty much the same thing. Suggest dropping everything after "starting area" and putting "even" before tried just to clear it up a little. "Miranda never read any of the genre herself, " no clue what this is supposed to mean. Sorry if im missing something obvious. "ended up with quite the competent ** helpers." probably just me again but missing words "group of" " Still *isn’t*, but I’ve gotten better" Because Miranda is refering to herself this should be "don't" "Mostly ** ignored the undead spider’s attempts" missing word "Jake" "it functions similarly to *their* teleportation" i think this should be "the"

brjenness

poor miranda having to slaughter vicious but adorable little geckos

KenTX325

I thought he was originally an iguana. But maybe level 1 means gecko.

ZMVPJ

I really hope they go into each of the tutorials of the people miranda has brought

Funny to me Jake realizing he's struggling to level as fast as his close friends because of his buddy boost ability.

Xerecs

Would be nice to get some full chapters focused on the event instead of split half chapters.

brjenness

Expand. Nordic makes me picture giant men jumping off ships and charging into larger armies to whip their asses. Not arguing, just never heard that statement before. Dammit, now you'll have my mind running in circles all day thinking about the concepts of safety and security.

Goa

Tftc. It seems you have the nordic classic of confusing safety with security.

John Durrett

Hmmm... a gecko that is intelligent, is a terrific scout and wants to be an Administrator...sounds like the Evolution of Geiko! Will find you the best insurance deals on the planet or the MultiVerse!

Damascus

Not one to complain but I was hoping for a bigger tutorial regression arc that stretched for a couple of chapters. Would have been cool.

brjenness

Lol...if I was zog and everybody was right about it being an iguana, I would be tempted to edit the earlier description and then come here and say, "nope. It said lizard."

Arieh Sochaczevski

Thanks for the chapter! I was hoping he’d make friends, but when I started imagining that tunnel… I’m not so sure anymore.

Shadowind

Tftc

Vega

Thanks for the chapter! As a bit of a suggested edit for the sake of continuity, I recall the Wyvern as having been evolved from an iguana, instead of a gecko.

brjenness

Yeah, undead spiders. Name a creepier combo.

brjenness

Who was valdema? Oh nevermind. Valdemar. Why doesn't that look right? Valdimar? That doesn't look right either. Meh, doesn't matter. Cocky guy with an axe. I assume that's who you mean.

JJB4345_80_815

Yes, thank you for the chappy Zogarth!

Clint

And deal with a sim Jake…

Mateo Lopez

I definitely remember the wyvern being an iguana. I’ll just write it off as Miranda not knowing her lizards.

Erebos

Can someone explain why Jake doesn't have to participate in the first phase? Is it because he's already a Prima Administrator? It would be funny to see him go into the inner zone of his tutorial with the absolute minimum level, kill the four Beast Lords with a stealth attack, and then destroy the king at level 25 to 35. Like Valdema in Nevermore.

Samuel Nelson

I'm getting"Love, Death, and Robot" vibes. Zogie, are you good? Thanks for the chapter!

Loststar7

Thanks for the chapter and happy Friday the 13th everyone. I thought the North Peak Wyvern told Jake he was an iguana not a gecko but that could just be Miranda not knowing the difference.

David Vieira

Only reason William fought Jake was because he killed everyone. If they take care of Richard, and gather everyone, the tutorial is not so bad. They still have to defeat the 4 dungeons and then the King of the forest

Bluejay

Thanks for the chapter

So each party member tutorial? Miranda was definitely the most chill, We know Holstred was hard. Lilian had Donald and Abby making everyone a living hell, the Wyvern might be excluded, and William was the hardest. That said William itself was what made it so deadly. Problem is they have to fight the King of the Forest.

ButterflEye

There going to have to go to each party member’s tutorial meaning they have to fight Jake is my best guess
