Iirc last evolution he received a couple skill upgrades as part of the new class / profession (and a new skill). While some of the ones that weren't touched were downgraded in rarity as they weren't up to par for the new grade

Soulflames are not special enough to warrant a class name. Na, I actually believe his profession won't change at all. He is walking a unique path, the first of it. There shouldn't be any existing profession better suited for him, it only would be playing with the exact name. And as the system already copy-pasted flavour text, I don't see why it wouldn't just offer him again heretic-chosen alchemist. Well, besides the primeval harbinger stuff.

I'm a little bit confused about that skill section. Wasn't it clearly established that skills will experience downgrades during the evolution, to give them room to grow again? Why does Jake expect upgrades then? Doesn't seem to make sense.

For you guys getting mad at people "whining" about filler/pacing, yes patreon is about supporting the author. Its also a place where we are purchasing a product. saying we shouldn't complain is like saying if you buy something from a store and it doesn't work right or do what you thought it was supposed to, you should just shut up and keep it because you're paying to support the manufacturer. I love these books/ chapters and sometimes I get frustrated, sometimes I see an awesome chapter that others don't like but I don't comment that they are whining because they didn't like it and I did. Nothing crazy, but I would imagine a pretty straightforward upgrade of his class, while he’s definitely made progress he hasn’t changed much of anything that would result in a big class shift. Maybe some primal hunter stuff as he continues to close in on godhood. His profession I feel like will have the bigger shift with his meditation upgrade (even though it’s not a prof skill) and experience with the gate of enlightenment adding a divine touch to him. Maybe making the whole heretic chosen thing a little more fucky and changing shit up. But I could also see it being straightforward as well. Idk really I got no idea but those would be my best guess

Despite what some people are saying, I'm still loving the pacing of the story. I think some people want/expect every single chapter to be even more exciting and action packed than the last but that's not how books work. You need just as much downtime to flesh out and expand character motivations, world building, etc. Otherwise this will just be one of those books that is one dimensional and dull. Zog treats us to 5 chapters a week which plenty of artists do way less so lets just enjoy the ride and not spread any negativity, because that shit is just not constructive at all

Ya'll going to get Z to yell at everyone again with this stateless talk and throwing popcorn at the chapters. When you get chapters for a week of a character chatting and doing stuff and checking their list and checking it twice like Jake here is cosplaying Legolas Santa Clause is what makes the character feel like a real person and why we all give a shit about this book and its characters. Plus this being raw drafts and him writing it daily in flow state, is what gets edited down from a week of chapters into like 2 chapters and then distilled in to fire ass story on release. More fluff is good for drafts which these are. We're only going to have like 2 more upgrades EVER in the story as I Imagine him being a god might be at the end of it all and we're 1200 chapters in this is only the 3rd time. It's a big deal and if Z wants to take his time hitting that peak, good. We pay extra ducets for the privilege of standing over the shoulder in the writing room of one of our favorite authors because we like it, not to stomp mud covered shoes over their nice white couch. The range will definitely increase but as a C grade he can't control it at it's current C grade max power all the time, hence the pulsing technique. So just being able to do that fully would probably be considered massive upgrade. Also expect to upgrade it's stat scaling with perception

The grades mean nothing if they are too fast. Too many good stories where progress gets too fast as they move up with the author trying to simulate long periods of time moving. But here the grades are massive gulfs and I actually feel like we were with Jake on that Journey. Lastly I don't understand the complaints. This is not really a web novel. It's a book where we are getting chapters early. The only real cliff hanger is at the end of the book. All these chapters flow together in the books.

I think it might take more than a week to get all three parts of this evolution for Race, Class and Profession. Monday/Tuesday will plot the different options for Race. Wednesday will outline his Race decision and why. Along with the start of the Class options. Thursday remainder of Class options. Friday will plot out the Class decision and why. Also containing the beginning plot of Profession options. Cliff hanger - New Year Friday remainder of Profession options Cliff - Monday will be the decision of the Profession decision. This could also include any and all decussions with Vilas to assist making the decisions prior or after making each selection tor Race/Class/Profession.

I love Zogarth, but man… the Patreon releases are killing me. I think I need to go back to reading the full books. These cliffhangers make me hate chapters I’d normally enjoy as part of the story. Instead of savoring them, all I can think is, “Forget this filler chapter give us the evolution already!” And that just feels wrong.
