How did you not see this coming? It's what happens every evolution... If you don't want too many cliffhangers, just read each book as it is released.

I enjoy/am interested in how the system sometimes aligns with the multiverse at large…though I guess it’s just a matter of records. The system’s emphasis on Jake Juice use feels like it comes from how it revives/births records consistently powerful and fresh. It’s neat how that is now correlating to races wanting to use Jake Juice to empower their potential. TFTC

I had the same thought that Zog is building up the reveal on the final choice only for Jake to pick Arcane Hunter of the Boundless Horizon XD Considering how he hasn't picked anything previously that has included his origin energy I feel like the odds are low he will choose it now.

This isnt a cliff. I dont mean that in a comparitive way I mean it in a "you dont understand the term" way. These chapters are supposed to be a long form narrative, meaning theres progress from chapter to chapter and they are to be read in a book at some point where you can just go from one to the next immediately. Do you expect every chapter to be the summation of whatever fight, pursuit, task, or conversation Jake started the chapter working on? Each chapter tens of thousands of words long just so you never have to read one day after the next? Fuck it just release a full book every day so you can read it all at once but then the cliff would be what does Jake do in the next book. Fuck it release the entire narrative from tutorial to godhood in one unbroken chapter instead.

Just a small response but, this is a narrative eventually becoming a book. This means that, eventually, these chapters will be put together in a larger work to be read one after the other. Do you expect every chapter to cover absolutely everything about a topic, contest, fight, or plot point leaving each day complete with no progress or through line from chapter to chapter and having no regard for length? Calling today a cliffhanger badly misunderstands a) how narratives work, and b) what a cliffhanger is.

I tried a bunch of synonyms and none felt right to me so maybe just ditch "hunt of the" making it "no one escapes the Primal Hunter" "and no further *profession* experience can be earned before" should be "class", right? "+50 Intelligence, +50 Willpower, **50 Wisdom, " missing "+" "killing a fair *deal* of powerful monsters" seems weird word choice to me. should be "number" or "amount" "didn’t want to *learn* further into just" should be "lean"

Just like how Jake rejected wielder of eternal hunger back in c grade, depending on how heavily it leans onto the primeval stuff, Jake may reject it. Jake seems to really like the horizon, arcane, and hunter concepts so it's definitely a no if it doesn't include them.

Fifth option is going to be something along the lines of Primal Hunter of Horizon’s Edge and upgrade the word arcane instead of changing to boundless it will be a question of if it gives more then 200 perception if it gives 199 he chooses arcane if it gives 201 he choose primal.

At first I thought "meh" about the 5th option getting its own chapter. But actually the 5th option is going to be terrifying.. For all of Jake's enemies anyway. He made a black dot out of Valdemar's ax, returned the sand to its Origin during his fight with the Primordial, and used the energy to heal himself. He even summoned Oras with it Now the system is greenlighting for him to do this more, encouraging him to go wreck the entire multiverse It's almost like the System wants Jake to jailbreak right on through it, the hussy

I completely disagree with the idea that these choices should be shortened. So far, these few chapters in which Jake has to choose a new class have functioned as a kind of summary of the entire preceding grade.

Systrm always wants to leavr options open dependant on your path, for all it knoes jakr may want to go those otber paths. So its not gonna give 5 of thr same option just progressivly better, but instead 5 different paths dependant on what hes done. Its also why last teo are usually chosen though since those two more align with what hes done already usually, hence their better quality.

Tftc and welcome back in 2026! It was a little bit of a sad way to start off with this chapter, lots of longwinded stuff most people won't even read as it is obvious Jake will skip the option. I would suggest for the future to compress these option chapters a little bit. It is the same with all those selections, Jake never picks the first 3 options, so why go into such detail with them? I read the class name and skim the description, but I honestly skip the explanations. Only the most nerdy people might remember unpicked options, I care more for the relevant stuff. On the other hand I have huge respect for the creativity and work you put into aspects of the story which will not have any relevance whatsoever anymore, it does give the narration some natural life.

I think Jake has done well enough in his Path, has records enough, for him to be offered some good picks. The first 3 he would never pick, why does the system offer them, then? It surely knows. I expect the 5th to be a really good option with some new stuff, and this 4th was a straight upgrade, which is better than nothing - just evolving to C grade is very hard for most people. Keeping your "rarity" means you did good, very good in his case, since his class was very strong and needed a lot to evolve. He gets to stay the course or mix it up with a single viable option. It's not a lot of choice. On the other hand, he is pretty set on his path, and has a straightforward mentality. He knows what he wants. He already knows he'll be picking n.5 without reading it... That the system doesn't offer a variety of divergent paths is a testament to the solidity of his Path. 'You do you, you're basically the best in the class, go on as you were.' 'Same, but take this explosive, unstable, new stuff to do your weird Juice stuff, which I, the System, am very intrugued and happy with, do more of it' I guess it's a rule of the multiverse that there have to be 5 options, so the system puts in some 'not a real choice' choices.

There are 2 stories i follow in Patreon. This and the other by Cerim. Honestly i always had this higher than the other one but off late the gap is getting narrower and narrower. I feel we are waiting too long between any epic moments with Jakes path as it is. The last truly epic moment i can think of is the Valdemar fight which was ages ago. Don’t get me wrong the fights and alchemy moments are great. Zog you have created this amazing story universe and it’s incredible. I just feel with Jake having that additional gear while never having to use it or face challenges is an almost controlled env takes the edge away from some of the fights. I don’t have an issue with cliffs cause the pay offs were always incredible. Maybe you have set a too high a standard for us to expect but it’s not hitting the same as it used to. I look forward to reading more Jakes adventures but this was just me 2 cents on the topic.

It says the 5th option will be more in tune with his origin path. I think that is the way to go. Jake wanted to get more options using his Jake juice during fights and I think this next class might be that path. An evolution path due to the records of his fight with Valdemar.
