WIP - Preview / Sneak Peek - Docomo's History (part of the next video)
🕑 Added 2024-11-23 01:48:09 +0000 UTCHey!!!
Haven't posted here in a while, so here's a 8 min sneak peek from the next video (the one about that keitai phone I imported from Japan): a quick rundown of NTT Docomo's history and how they were directly involved with the creation of keitais (... and also our modern smartphone world, indirectly)
Took me a lot of time to research most of this (all of the info about the pagers is only available in japanese) but now that this is mostly assembled (you will see some frame flashes and some other minor stuff like that in this render, i recently switched to linux and i am adjusting, they will be gone in the final video) the actual complete video (which is about that specific keitai phone and how it is to use it, but where this historical part is very important for me to put it in a precise context) should be out very soon!
Like, in the next few days probably!
Thanks again for your support aaaaand yeah enjoy!

I was not expecting this preview to be 8 minutes long, really excited for the whole video. Your channel is refreshing, its been a while since I learned so much from a youtube channel outside of something like technology connection. (If you dropped a list of any analogue video pluggins you use that would be greatly appreciated lol)

Another classic. It's cool to see how ahead Japan was back then. Using the internet on a phone 20 years ago was just a no go due to how expensive it was.

7:23 you didn't butcher it at all, it sounded pretty good. If you want to sound even more native, you can shorten a lot the last -e and accentuate a little bit less the -a. Something like this: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:LL-Q150_(fra)-WikiLucas00-portable.wav

2:54-3:06 I don’t know if this is caused by rendering or Linux but the audio got shifted in this part to the point the lips say entirely different thing

UPDATE: A japanese speaking friend also just told me I have made some minor errors here when referring to kanjis/kana so I am going to fix that in the final version ofc
