OK - then how about an end to end project that is designed using CAD (your choice) - material - tool considerations (in the way only you can do it!) execution and evaluation. I spend my day (I am not a machinist) executing physical manifestations of designers' dreams using a manual mill, lathe, CNC, (Wazer, Tormach, ShopBot) and I desperately need a "recipe" for using my limited knowledge in the shop to use each tool.

Oooh oooh oooh 🤩😍 a ToT collab.. now thats gonna have me genuinely rofl. can hardly wait. Further to Mark Brutton's comment, a metal lathe can replicate itself. I just can't get my head around making the bed 🤔

I haven't done much for electronics on the video yet, but I may well do so! My electronics bench isn't set up for filming (wrong kinds of lighting, backdrops, etc), but I hope to do that soon.

Thanks for asking us, Quinn. The lathe is the only tool that can make itself! We are thrilled by that idea. Trouble is, we then get trapped into making nothing except things FOR the lathe. So I say, must be something with a raison d'être beyond the lathe itself (eg cat toothbrush). And should be something that can be made quickly, in quantity and perhaps gifted to special people as a tiny ... Xmas present! I once made a puzzle joint (in wood) and friends still talk about that. Some are still trying to put it together. So what might we be talking about here? In metal. Something that entails some single-point threading, I think. A lick of knurling, interesting finish. Common set-up, so making ten is as easy as making one (sort of). Easy for you, easy for us, and non-machinist friends will be dumbstruck with awe. What is this thing? Dunno. Over to you (and everybody out there).

I had a blast a few months ago building a tube preamp kit from Bottlehead, and there are a lot of tube guitar amplifier kits out there. What about something like that? Kind of smacks of the Heathkit thing, and simultaneously new and old school. But I will watch whatever you produce just because you seem like a cool person to hang out with virtually. :-)
