Honestly, you're probably better off practicing in Alibre by making the part again. A STEP file is going to lose all the structure of the thing, in terms of parameters, component assignments, etc. The lowest-common-denominator CAD file formats are unfortunately too low and lose all the important information beyond just the basic polygons of the 3D geometry. Furthermore, the workflow and intended usage pattern of all the software packages are different, so you're better off learning the way Alibre wants you to do things, rather than adapting what Fusion wants you to do, if that makes sense.

EDIT: I didn't see the file archive until after posting the below msg. Apologies. If anyone can export the F3D to STEP for me, it would be appreciated, but I see that F3D and PDF is the std. It's already a kindness to have access to what is given. Much appreciated. Any possibility of exporting that F3D file as STEP? I'm trying to avoid the SaaS rental model by using Alibre CAD. PDF is fine for making the part, but I was hoping to practice on Alibre CAD with this relatively simple part.

Hehe, yah, making the hole for the handle would have been a lot easier on the mill.

Great stuff, your videos are second to none, very informational and fun to watch, had some spare time yesterday and made a hammer from your plans with the exception of using my mill for a couple of things since I was too lazy to use the lathe for everything. Oh thank you very much! I appreciate that, because I put a lot of effort into the audio. Honestly, audio is harder than video. You have to capture it perfectly because you can't do much to fix it. Most video problems can be touched up or worked around after the fact, but with audio you get basically one chance. I've spent more on microphones than all other gear combined on this channel. 😂

Hi Quinn. I normally watch your videos on my laptop PC. Today, I happened to re-watch the machinist hammer in the house on the 4K 65" TV. Holy Cow! It's like having you right there in the room. Just wanted to say that your audio video quality is right up there with the content of your channel. I think the Discover Channel needs to pick you up for a TV production. :-)
