You can change it when leaving the human area, right before you get to Ogremarsh. It happens as you cross a bridge.

Thanks for the report! That'll be addressed in the first hotfix, but you can get around it by going directly right out of the stairs to meet the Bunnies, NOT down and right.

The dialogue from the doctor is from after the hospital game also.

Some of the characters glow green when it happens so it appears that it's trying to repeat the hospital game but because you can't interact with them it's getting stuck.

In this case yes, but that won't always be true. I just try to find a little icon that's appropriate to the scene... sometimes I find a more appropriate one than at other times.
