I checked back with Jonathan yesterday and he has no recollection of anyone even asking him about back account details (even me). I checked back with Lloyd's and the online account is still blocked thankfully.

Amazing Work Jim. I was watching with Bated breath when I saw them registering an account for Lloyds. I'm glad they weren't able to do anything.

Thanks Vyrel. I'm not religious. Just the opposite. But I do have compassion for people who are vulnerable.

I have a recording the call that I made to Lloyd's. I might upload this here to let you have a listen. Initially they greeted me as the victim's name because I was able to type all of the necessary details into their IVR. So they were surprised that I wasn't the person they expected (understandably). Despite this, they asked that the victim himself contact them, ignoring my statement that the victim was unaware that he had been scammed. Sorry I did what they asked and contacted the victim. I explained to him what had happened and that he had to get in touch with Lloyd's. I checked back with him 2 days later to ensure that he had done this and, with a bit of horror, he said that he hadn't got round to it. He sounded really vulnerable. So I called Lloyds myself again and explained the the 87yo may not have realised what had happened. Only at this point did Lloyds suspend the online account. I guess they have processes to follow and they probably never heard the words 'I have access to a scammer's PC' before. I'm just glad that they eventually took action.

Well done, Jim. Did you get yourself through to Lloyds fraud department? Did they take you seriously?

It's as well I'm honest... the guy had nearly £100,000 in his account. I didn't show this because I seriously don't want more scammers to pick up on this.

They are so predatory, like a big cat separating a weak one from the herd. Glad you were there to rescue the day for this poor old guy, unlike the multitude that get fleeced daily.

This actually almost made me sick. I was watching it happen live and I was almost in tears calling the bank. It's now anger though and I hope that the appropriate authorities in India will take action this time.

Man this was hard to watch, I'm so glad you managed to contact both him and the bank! It's incredible how low these people will go, vultures...well monsters with no morals really :c
