The problem with Microsoft is that they only block Tech Support Scams through their browsers, as in Internet Explorer and Edge - which are terrible. Windows Defender doesn't always block the HTML: EvilCursor code that these scam pages abuse. You're better off using a different browser with an extension like Netcraft, an adblocker and any other Anti-virus software other than Defender. Microsoft needs to do better.

I think bobRTC is a brilliant innovation. There is no better way to make scamming unprofitable thank to continuously waste their time. The barrier to this was the cost of calls, but when they're free like this, it's just superb. I've got a lot of admiration for the developers of BobRTC.

Love the comment from the presenter "We need an army of Jims!"...I am no way as skilled as you Jim, but what do you think about folks like me wasting Scammers time with tools like Bobrtc.live?

Ok, this was a nice diversion and good to see you getting CBS coverage as long as it doesn’t negatively impact the real work you do (making the scammers more aware of you likely swings either way...). But really Jim, we want to know when we are going to see the results of the really juicy stuff you’ve been working on... looking forward to it!

I can't help but wonder if Jim's work has been as effective, or more so, than Microsoft's.

Wow, you are amazing. I feel like my money is being well spent. I tell everyone I know about you and the important work you do. I was at my Moms last week and she had a VM saying her Microsoft software was hacked. She is 96 and has never owed a computer. These people pry on the elderly and people who just don’t understand. Keep up the good fight my friend.

I do feed Microsoft details of the scammers I discover.

Great interview though great to see someone taking action!

Not surprised that the Indian cyber police won't even answer CBS they probably know about a lot of these scams but they just don't care. It's really just sad. These guys take advantage of so many people and the people who have power to stop this just won't.

I can't see it in Canada either. We can blame CBS for that. There are some workarounds. Solution: SetupVPN is a free Chrome plugin. You have to register though.
