It's infuriating to hear that the Indian Cyber Police has done nothing about most of the crimes you report to them. The Cyber Police's inaction's create a breeding ground for more scams.

Not so far (in my experience), but I'll keep my eyes open for this. I've heard stripe.com mentioned a couple of times before.

Jim, I was wondering if the Company Stripes (the payment gateway) is used by scammers and if you have found any evidence that it has. Also if you need a contact there I have one.

It is disgusting to me that the police do literally nothing to combat this and at the same time you are not even allowed to defend yourself against those scammers. Let alone attack their infrastructure.

Why did Jim change his alias from Jim Browning to Jim Brown talking to the victim?

My parents are 86 and 84. My father has dementia. These scams are a regular topic of conversation at their house. If it weren't for your hard work and that of others to bring public awareness, I wouldn't be able to help protect my parents.

Thank you for doing this, Jim. Your calmness is exemplary, most people would allow their anger and frustration to show. I do feel that the telephone companies do not do enough to stop the scam calls - I wonder how much money BT, for example, actually make out of all the scamming traffic on their infrastructure? In some ways, the phone companies can be considered to be facilitating the crimes and should be pressured to do more to stop them, in the same way that social media sites are pressed to removed inappropriate content.

Thank you for what you do, it's a shame he didn't get it all back, but half is much better than nothing. I haven’t been a patreon member for long but as someone who, through really bad timing, fell for a scam, I seriously appreciate you. It sucks the police don't do anything about them, but it's definitely worth filing a report anyway. At least with ones where they have you get visa gift cards, the police report is the ticket to getting all your money back (you call the customer service number on the card packaging, they freeze the cards and tell you if and where they have been used, as well as provide the company's email, you email them the receipt for your gift card purchase and the police report and then send you replacements with the original funds)

Even more angry that so little is done about it by police and other authorities. They point out policies that prevent more aggressive action and criminal convictions. I don't understand why it appears that none of them push for policy changes. I assume it's sheer laziness, kick-backs, and/or they simply don't care.

For every one scam you stop, it can mean the difference between someone struggling to buy food and pay their bills. It must be frustrating when the authorities don’t seem to do anything but each one person you save hopefully learns something too for next time. I’ve sent your videos to all my friends with elderly parents and make sure to tell my parents about these scams too in order to hopefully make sure they aren’t taken advantage of when they get older.
