How do you catch a scammer? (featuring me!)
🕑 Added 2021-11-05 23:31:06 +0000 UTCI took part in a podcast recently which was hosted by Dr Julia Shaw and Sofie Hagen.
They cover things like what motivates me and whether it's right to do what I do. We discover the chilling fact that even the most tech-savvy and internet literate can become the victim of a scam (yes - anyone can be scammed).
Enjoy!

Hi Kelly, I was looking at a post by a Indian woman who hates the scammers and said it might make a difference if the same stuff was sent to the police, the council then government and to let them know the next stop WILL our news corps. She said that would get them off their backsides as they hate other countries knowing about these scammers. But they hate even more if a news corp from another country shows up they seem to finally do something……. There are so many things going wrong in these countries and it doesn’t stop at scammers unfortunately.

The Corporations who sell these products should make some kind of investment to cut down, or stop these scammers. I don’t know how( obviously 😏), but there must be something they can do. Since most of them are in India, maybe their governments should have much stricter penalties for scammers. Or their Press perhaps could shame them. I tend to think shaming a criminal can be more effective than a prison sentence, not only to punish a thief, but to discourage other would be scammers from taking up the crime in the first place. Alternatively, maybe their governments / law enforcement agencies could hire them

Stuff like this is why the BBC is just superior to most other public service broadcast services. The PSBS in my country would *never* run an informative program like this. BBC are the best and if there is anything the British people should be proud about it's the BBC!

I don’t have a TV Licence either. This plays ok on my browser. No need for an app. It did offer me a download of Sounds App but I declined it. I guess you might say no licence so you comply with the no usage/consumption of BBC services and I understand that. I don’t live in the UK.

I enjoyed hearing about your mindset behind it all. My biggest fear on your behalf is more that some government body decides to take action on you, more so than some entity from the scam industry. I think people in the government who doesn't understand this concept well, might try to put a stop to you, not because you're a threat but because you are capable of being one and because you have a decent amount of "publicity", big enough to have a meaningful voice. It's not something I'm an expert in or understand fully well but it's just something I think as a result of previous observations. That said, I love your youtube channel and I hope that you'll always continue to do what you do for as long as possible and I will always watch your videos. Thank you for doing it.
