This book was pivotal to me as I read it as a freshman in high school. The famous line of "we can't choose where you come from, but we can choose where we go from there" got me through some of the hardest times. Such an important story! Also the "cringey" lines make more sense in the book since in the movie it's spoken more like its written which makes it slightly odd at times. The Fault in Our Stars is the same way.
