Hylians in Pyrogenesis
🕑 Added 2017-08-06 08:32:50 +0000 UTC Hey there everyone,I've spent the last week experimenting with the Pyrogenesis engine. After making the next version of Total War, I'm seriously considering moving the game over to this engine. With no more hard-coded limits on units and factions, I've been able to seriously expand the roster of units available. Check out some of the new units that would be available to the Kingdom of Hyrule: http://i.imgur.com/LOJjPQs.jpg

I've heard From the Main Forums, that You plan to bump up the number of available units for each factions unit roster. I believe the total number will be 20 now, for main factions. But What about NPC, Mercenaries, and Guild Factions? How many units will be in their unit rosters now?
Having recently doing a AOE II binge with friends I'm pretty interested as to how hyrule will shake things up. my biggest gripe with 0ad currently is that all the factions are way to similar/exactly the same. cant wait to see an alpha in action.

To be honest, I have long preferred the epic battles and maps of total war. However if you as the creator, believe that Pyrogenesis will give you way better flexibility with what you want then by all means make the switch.
I hope you add battalions, I don't think single unit micromanagement is all that great for this game (unless it is the Sheikah).

Your decision, of course, but I don't think this Age of Empires style will come even close to providing the Total War epicness and gameplay I at least am here for. It's a decision to become more gamey and less narrative/epic/simulatory, which I respect but disagree with.
Looks amazing, I can't wait to see actual gameplay.

Awesome ^^. I'm eager to see the others, not going to lie. I know first hand it's an incredible feeling when your creativity, when previously stifled, is suddenly given far more freedom. Hope you don't spread yourself thin with all this newfound freedom Neph.
Respect!
