UPDATE: Exclusive Flexi Factory Skeleton Snake!
🕑 Added 2025-04-04 21:27:08 +0000 UTC*This file has been vaulted until August 2025. Will be $3.99 for new members
.......................................................................................................................
UPDATE... Since some of you have had failures on my original design, I made several adjustments that may help🤞your printing issues.! The curved and straight have been updated, as well as the 3MF. NO changes have been made to the heads. Like before, you will still need great adhesion for the smaller parts.
I have kept both versions and zipped them separately for you to choose. Please make sure the file says update before you use it. I could not recreate the printing failures on any of my machines, but thanks to the community for helping me troubleshoot some possibilities for the redesign. Please update your comments below if this works better for those that need it :)
.....................................................................................................................................................
Happy Friday! I know this has been anticipated and thank you so much for your patience while I wrapped up these prints. I was having too much fun trying out all the different colors 🤣 I provided the 3MF for those that want to try, but honestly, these look fantastic in gradient pla.. and I prefer it that way too.
I have been noodeling this for awhile, so I am SOOOO happy you chose this one for the Poll. For those that haven't seen the video, this is definitely my most articulated model. It even make a delightful sound when you move it. We have been a little obsessed playing with these all week.
I made 4 versions:
- Coiled Snake
- Straight Snake for smaller prints (under 75%) and print mill
- Head with Eye
- Head with NO Eye
- 3MF of all of the above
Happy Printing -Dan

Print tips and Info:
STL and 3MF files are included. * If you use the 3mf file, please remember that it is a painted project file for your convenience. You must check your material/printer/settings to make sure it works correctly for your printing project.
I print with, 15% infill/gyroid, .12 or .16 layer height for quality.
As usual, make sure you have good adhesion, especially for the mini versions. A glue stick works or I have switched to using on all my machines... a BIQU Cryopgrip Frostbite adhesion plate.
I successfully test printed between 60% and 140% for this design. I do not recommend smaller than 75% for the best articulation. For small prints I highly recommend quality basic pla since the links will be small.
Gradient PLA works well with this model: I have a comprehensive list of Filament I use here: Amazon List
1st photo is 140% STL - Ziro Candy Silk
2nd photo is 115% 3MF - Creality Blue and Bamulab Marble
3rd photo is 100% STL - Amolen Yellow Feldspar
4th photo is 100% STL - Eryone Matte Gradient Shire
5th photo is 100% STL - Ziro Neon Matte (You can see the full rainbow when it is straight!)
6th photo is 90% STL with layer color change - Amolen Red/Gold Darker and Amazon Gold
7th photo has 70% and 75% STLs - Ziro Paintsplash and Eryone Shire

still can't find the snake
Israel5864
Hello, I can't find the snake available?
Sandy
The waiting for August to come is hard! I bought all the other older skeleton ones! People LOVE these! Come on August, come faster! I want to print this to add to the collection of the other ones! Love your work by the way! Everything has turned out amazing!
Dan
The downloads are generally here on the server throughout the month and then move to the archive. For members of April that didn't get a chance to download it I've mentioned it below several times but I'll put it here for those who are reading the top post. Members receive an archive link on the last day of each month. There's more information in the pinned post when you are logged into patreon. All you need to do is click the link to redeem and open the files in a free MMF account. You can store the designs you receive here each month for free if you miss them :-)
Dawn
Hello I really want to print the skeleton snake, I missed the email with download, is it possible to get a download sent. thank you
Dan
The file will be available for new members as an Out of the Vault Exclusive for $3.99 in August.
Terry Flick
Is it possible to get the file, very cool and I'd like to give them a try
Dan
Please check your email for the archive link. Once the exclusives move off the server, I send the archive link so you can redeem anything that you received last month
Jamie Sanchez
I missed the udated on this. is it possible to get it. I just started printing these and am having issues with the body.
Dan
The Exclusives move off the server each month as new members do not receive them. You will need to redeem your archive link that I email you in order to retrieve the snake if you missed downloading it last month.
William Czyzewski
I’ve clicked download link but the snake isn’t showing up, could you provide the zip file link in the comments?
Dan
60% is very small. Each bine has the tiniest of footprints. A thin layer of glue should do the trick. That is what I use on my textured plates. Just ran several of the new design and no fails for me. 15% gyroid infill, 2 walls?
Georgia Christo
The first 2 I did was with old file both failed, I just tried the new file after around 60% it has failed again :( , I used your setting for layer height and used, do I need to use glue or a frostbite plate, im not sure I want to try it again :(
PATCHTECH3D
We recently printed this as big as we could and it's fabulous. It's definitely the most fidgety. I'm not a fan of snakes either but love this as a sensory fidget.
Dan
I personally use basic pla settings (Not silk) for every filament in the bambu slicer. I print with 15% infill gyroid, 2 or 3 walls and .12 or .16 layer height. I do not adjust a thing else. I use the textured plates on my smaller bambu machines with magigoo or bambu polymer glue, and Biqu Cryogrip Frostbite on my X1Cs
Sonia Nicol Alvarez
What plate settings do you use in bambu studio? what plate do you choose in the the slicer? Do you also tweak the settings? Also, for the silk filament do you just choose bambu silk or do you use the generic silk settings when you print?
Dan
Me too. I'm using the original file but I'm glad that other people are having success with the other file :-)
Printables3dLab
we have printed many of the original files with no issues
Dan
Please see the post and link right at the top. Also download folder, pinned post. All files go to the download folder or Bonus folder :)
Andrew Felker
Where is the download link for the skeleton snake?
Brian Dye
This new version is printing well for me with a Prusa Mk4s.
Steve Beers
I'm working on a 375% version......a rattler for the tail would be fun.....lol
Melinda Livie
Why did I manage to print this 3 times in silk pla on two different printers last week with no problems but now I'm having trouble when it's about 70% done, sections are shifting on the plate.... ughhh.... I guess I'll try this updated version.
Richard Knight
Thanks Dan, for solving my problem with getting your snake to print without a failure. Your update works great. Thanks for a great model.
Dan
I use the frostbite... https://amzn.to/4j5dvdY
Steve Beers
Can we get a rattler version...
Sonia Nicol Alvarez
I only had issues with the silk filament. I printed several others on regular PLA using just the textured PEI plate and they all printed wonderfully! I am going to buy the cryogrip plate because I really want the silk filament to work but which one do you recommend?
Jared Kaufman
No issues with 2 prints of the original version on my Guider IIs, but I appreciate that you are willing to rework the file to reduce failures for those who are having them.
gavin noy
Update worked great at 100%.
Steven Boren
I had 2 failures at the same point. I will try the update over the weekend.
NVKHobbies
had multiple failures on 2 of my printers finally got one to come out on my kobra s1 at 60 % scale gonna try this updated file! maybe the enclosure of the s1 helped it out.
Jeff N
I have the first version going as I forgot there was an update. Im gonna let it fly as everything seems to be stuck well. Thanks for the update!
Jimmey
Definitely took a lot of patience to get it but it finally came out
Dan
Did you try the new one yet?
braxton bernstein
Just did the updated as a first attempt looks so good I’m fossil rock play lost adhesion at the tail while sleeping but still came out amazing
Daniel
I am 1 for 4 at single color 100% scale. 2 for 2 at 130% scale 2 color.
Tiffani
Haven’t had any issues on x1c with textured plate. Have printed 4 or 5. Couple coiled and one multi colored. Hope everyone gets theirs sorted, cus the snakes are amazing!
Dan
Just added a new version to try!
Stephen Gillum
Had no issues on my standard Bambu A1 plate. Made sure it was cleaned fresh before printing. Came out amazing.
Dan
A few months ago I started putting all downloads in the download folder (pinned when you are logged in) also linked at the very top of this post, and the collections tab at the top of the page. It is your one stop for all downloads.
Emmett Duprey
gavin noy
Had the first one print fine. The 3 after that have had an issue with one rib on each. A different rib each time. Its still connected but the layers look like they have shifted over. Cleaned the textured plate. Applied glue and trying again.
Mia Pidden
amazing model, love the feel in my hands when moving it around. I'm a big fan of the skellies and hope to see more of them
Alex Derrett
this comes out brilliant, great model
Judy Cox
Just not working tryed different sizes tryed on Bambu xc1 and Snapmaker just won’t work gets thru some and comes apart
Dan
That is odd. I test print on 3 X1Cs. I have the cryogrip plate. I do 15% gyroid infill, 2 walls, .12 or .16 layer height, but test with .2 as well. I use a. 4 nozzle and do not change my pla setting from basic unless I use a specialized material. I do regularly maintenance, level, clean heads, etc. But I try to keep it simple and consistent for testing printability.
Paul Gifford
Never had an issue with any other print, but the snake is driving me crazy. I keep losing one or two section on each print. Changed infill to Gyroid, knowing that grid has a tendency to knock pieces loose. I've tried normal Bambu settings for PLA at its recommended 70 degrees and 0 degrees which I use for most PLA. I've had no lick with both. I am using an X1C, I imported the STL, as I did not want it multi color. I could use some help!... Again, first ever Flexi model I have had an issue with.
Dan
A brim is a viable option. You can also add your printer and details to the Discord server in troubleshooting. I'd really like to help folks because I think aside from adhesion you do need to make sure you have a level plate and that you're extruder is not hitting part and knocking it off. I'm seeing some people say they lose it at 40% or 30% and this leads me to believe that their machine related issues. I don't want to speculate, so it would be very helpful to open up a dialogue in troubleshooting in regards to various machines and settings. Remember this is the most articulated model and those parts are quite small, so if any part moves or gets knocked off, if there's curling if you're heat and cool settings are off Etc it's not going to print as well as say the troll that has a giant footprint. I know many of y'all know this information, so disregard if this isn't news to you haha. I just want to help out those that are having failures. Some of y'all like myself I printed many many without failure. So I'd like to spread the love:-)
Dan
Are you referring to the 3mf or the stl? Both of those files are compatible with the h2d. I know the slicer has been making updates so that might be the issue?
JR
Does anyone have the H2D printer? All my Patreon files load but won't allow the H2D to be used are the Patreon files not compatible with the new printer?
Christine Whelan
What about a Brim ... would that be useful here? It's such a great design, but definitely a challenging print even with Magicgoo
Donnie
I printed multicolor at 115 percent. Love it!
Donnie
i use glue when im printing heavily articulated prints
Joseph Ploettner
Love this model!
Vítor Wanderley
Three attempts and it always comes off the table when it's about 50% printed. Any tips?
Mark
A jellyfish keychain and magnet is just another wish
Mark
Any chance of a jellyfish coming to join tattoo starfish??
Bruce and Karen
This is my new favorite! It is so sleek and a great fidget too!
Dan
Why the same place? Bed unlevel by chance or is the nozzle hitting it? Curling maybe? Troubleshoot on discord with photos and print/material settings if you can. I would like to help.
Dan
One stop shop now so all files go to the Download post (link at the top of the post above) Too many folks opted out of email and were missing the announcements throughout the month. So i made the post public, shared on sicials, and added the files for members to Downloads." :)
Dan
I am sorry to hear that. I don't have a K2 but have seen prints from all sorts of machines. Can you put some info on Troubleshoot on discord? i would like to help if i can. Due to the small parts and major articulation it has to have great adhesion. This is the 1st one I have done with soooo many links, so it would stand to reason some could fail. I personally had two out of a couple hundred on my machines fail, but that was during testing/design. I use cryogrip or textured pei with magigoo. My machines are fine tuned because they have to be for me to keep testing. and I do have a drying cabinet for all of my pla. If any of that helps. Plus I always print at .12 or .16 unless its a big print. 2 walls and 15% infill gyroid on these.
cody willis
I am so sad because other then one printed at 120% i cannot get these to print under 100% i tried 85 slowed machine down, glue, no glue, etc. I love this design but my k2 does not like to print it unless it's big 😢
Robert M Tamm
I'm not seeing the files for download in my emails anymore. Has that changed?
Chris Powell
keeps messing up at 33 percent, tried 3 times, going to trying to make it smaller and see if that helps
Dan
I wouldn't go that low. 60% works on the standard plate and it does print. But I really made the straight version for the print mill. The curved will print smaller, but I suggest quality pla and settings.
Amber
Would love a scorpion Skelton one day?!?
Olly
Awesome model again.
Mark
I printed the straight version on a P1P single color silk filament, printed great but pulling off the plate, all the smaller joints broke. 45% is pretty much max size on any Bambu printer, so don’t think these are going to work.
Giamarie Saponaro
They come out so cool that big though!! I made one that big and 4 at 120 andd 1 at 75
NadinePaul Walworth
I decided to maximize the surface area of the plate and am printing at 140%! This thing will be massive!
Dan
The coiled will work better than the straight unless you are doing them small. The links are quite tiny, so it needs great adhesion to print well. You can add photos and settings info on discord troubleshoot for help. i don't use brims but if you have adhesion issues, this could help for anyone having issues.
michael alfaro
we've tried to print twice, silk pla. print fail both times, the print isn't sticking. p1p, pei plate, freshly washed and with the bambu glue. this was the coiled version. going to try one more time with the straight version and see if it makes a difference. i hope it does, it's a great looking model!
Dan
Can you open up a ticket on Discord in troubleshooting? This is the best place to add photos and talk about your settings. I printed with that filament and didn't change the settings and I use a cryogrip plate. But I do know that some silks need additional hot/cool settings
Sonia Nicol Alvarez
Newbie here! Need guidance with settings. I ordered the silk pla from your amazon link that you used but when I try and print it some of the print comes off the plate. I used the regular textured plate and then I changed to the smooth plate and it did the same thing but mid print. I also tried the textured PEI plate again but with glue and still no luck. Am I supposed the change the default settings? And if I am can anyone point me in the direction of how to do it pretty please? I'm printing on my A1 with the generic silk settings and have used the textured PEI plate, the textured PEI plate with glue and the smooth plate. Is it because I'm using the A1? should I print it on the P1S instead? Any help and guidance is greatly appreciated.
Ashley Fenstermaker
Printed 100% on my a1 took 7.5 hours and turned out great I have another one going can’t wait to see how these sell
Leah Hendry
The movement of this is so satisfying to watch. These will definitely be going with my skeleton collection.
James Hunt
I'm printing three right now at 100% on my a1. 50% on my a1 mini. Then 75% one of my neptune 3 pro machines. I'll let you know how it turns out my a1 mini is iffy with adhesion at times lol
Ed Wilts
It came out great!
John Lawson
This is amazing. Printed it in bone white filament on my A1 mini. Now we just need the Skeleton Mouse to go with him.
Ray Hanson
Never mind. The indentions on the side of the lower head through me off. It literally goes behind that. I feel so stupid. I did have adhesion issues so I'm going to try it again.
Ray Hanson
I printed the curved body and a no eyes head at 100% in the top of the head was too small to snap on to the bottom head.
Dan
Not annoying at all. There's no direct link because it has to assign a bot for the private server. You need to go to your settings tab under apps and it will have you log in through there.
Dan
There are two heads. The one with and without eyes and both work at 100%. But if you're looking at the 3mf file I did provide the straught version at 60% with the heads to try and avoid any mistakes on sizing.
Dan
Wow, beautiful!
Dan
That is very odd. There is definitely no overhang issues that would need supports, so if you wanted to put it in troubleshooting on Discord we can take a look at your material and hot and cool settings. Only thing I can think because I printed a couple hundred of these to test.
Jacque Prince
I printed 2 at 100% one of the heads had a little tiny issue with no support by one of the eyes where they hangover. Printed 1 on P1S and A1 mini. I printed the snake at 150% on P1P turned out great but the head is not handling the over hangs at bottom of head. Haven't let it go to the nose yet. Tried several times. I am going to add supports. Printing at .16 bambu P1P. Any thoughts? Thanks! BTW cool print and I hate snakes!
Chris
Printed 2 overnight. Both came out great. https://youtu.be/gWfFf95NgLc?si=NA_S7IrXQw_NtW_1
tamara an
aweosme!
dkev
They printed awesome. But these are no joke. You need serious bed adhesion.
Joan Dubois
Never mind. I am a fool. I was so excited to print I must have chosen the wrong head.
Mark Tuttle
look closely, it goes in the behind the holes on the cheeks
Mark Tuttle
Awesome, first one off the printer, amazing job on the joints
Joan Dubois
I printed it. Can’t get the top of the head on. Looks too small?
Heather M
I cannot seem to find the link for discord. 🤦♀️I did a search and look through posts. Sorry if it's an annoying obvious answer. 🥺
@d3d_creative
Top of page, DOWNLOADS, click it. Next page DOWNLOADS HERE!!! click it and you'll see the file under Attachments.
Vadim
Tell me how to download I'm new?
Lowi Lowi
Printed at 80% .. no brim. Took just over 5hrs .. came out nice
Raymond Plummer
Bambu A1, 100% scale i think was 10 hours or so, 120% is 14 hours. 135% was 16.5 hours if i remember correctly
Raymond Plummer
Only 4 more hours, printing at 120%, next will be a max of the print bed, if i can get the right filament for that one.
NotSo TacDad
What kind of print times are people looking at?
NotSo TacDad
I was just coming to see if anyone posted how long it took. What kind of printer did you use?
Chris Troutman
Got completely done after over 7 hours and it fell apart because it looks like the top didn’t completely get enclosed but the printer showed done. I printed the curved one at 125%. I’ll try it on my other printer tomorrow. Looked cool until the back pieces all fell apart.
Darjhin
just did one in a gradient and no brim
jon scofield
Are you using a brim when printing this file?
Nicholas Cribbs
Already got one on a plate so excited for this one!!!
Dan
You can share to Discord, and if you have enjoyed that is through the settings tab under apps. You can always tag flexifactory in any of your Social posts. I always put a post up on socials as well and you can add your photos there. I love to see them :-)
carrie roehrig
Oh he's adorable.
Amber
Okay, first time failed a couple hours in due to adhesion. Cleaned the plate, trying again!

What's the best way to share photos? Any chats?

I love the Neon filament. Looks great in that 👍

Dan
I tried, just didn't work with this design for the skeli
Silvyr
WOW! This is SOOOO awesome! Thank you!
Jill Martin
Wow, awesome. I am loving all the skeleton dinos and such. They are great sellers!
cody willis
And printing away lol once I finish the normal 100% I will make a big one. I'm to impatient lol
BradleyJames
Love it !
Torrey Tabor
Can you PLEASE make a snake with its tongue sticking out?
Dan
I tested to 60% but that is small and parts may stick depending on settings. I think 75% is best.
Matthew Freeman
How small is the smallest grams this can go? Setting up forna show and away from my office right now.
Amber
Yesss! Already had it on the printer a couple hours ago, 5 hours left 🥹🥹
Galway 3D
I have 2 printing right now, my wife bought some new filament to test out!
Dan
On the MMF server. They are instant download and store on MMF when you buy them.

Literally running home now 🤣🤣

Looks great. How do we receive the files we purchased from the vault or "myminifactory"
