Flexi Factory Racing Tortoise
🕑 Added 2025-02-14 23:07:51 +0000 UTCOk, I couldn't help myself... I really wanted to Turbo my Tortoise 😊.
This model has several fun features that make it great for customizing. The head pops-on and swivels for extra character :) The body, shell, and spoiler snap together, and the optional flames push in with a fairly snug fit.
I designed it this way so you can print all the parts in different colors. I personally like the shell shiny and the body matte or basic PLA.
I also redesigned the neck with a larger footprint, and kept the "box" feature to store stuff inside.
Happy Printing -Dan

15% infill/gyroid, .12 or .16 layer height for quality suggested
As usual. make sure you have good adhesion, especially for the mini versions. A glue stick works, however I have switched to using on all my machines... a BIQU Cryopgrip Frostbite adhesion plate (LOVE it).
I test printed between 50% and 125% for this design. Consider high quality materials and settings, the smaller you go.
Gradient PLA works well with this model: I have a comprehensive list of Filament I use here: Amazon List

Karl Smith, just finished on at 200% yellow and deep red.

I tried some wheel versions but you nailed it, the legs have to be static and I didn't love that direction. Took away too much of the Flexiness unfortunately.

Great print, working a large scale print of this little guy. Had a great Idea. Would love to see a version were the legs snap into place and a set of wheels that would fit into the feet. Going to print an engine to fit under the shell. LOL
