Updates: I have added several XL cut versions to print in the Download folder (link above)
- 1 Body piece cut
- 1 Head piece (same as original)
- Short tail cut
- Long tail part A and B cut
- 3MF file with all cut files included on separate plates
I have NOT printed an XL myself, but I did test smaller to make sure all parts connect correctly. The parts need to be glued together, I suggest Super Glue.
I did color the model for anyone brave enough to do a 5 day print 😬 but I suggest
one color/gradient to save time and material.

I really enjoyed working on this one. There’s something especially fun about bringing mythical creatures to life.
With so many interpretations of Nessie over the past century, I had the freedom to let my Creative brain run wild, which I absolutely love.
For this one I decided to focus on personality. I thought why not make him as curious about us as we are about him. I think I pulled it off...you tell me. 🤞
By the way, after releasing the sneak peek, a few of you already asked for an XL version—and absolutely, it’s coming your way tomorrow!

Print tips and Info:
STL and 3MF files are included. * If you use the 3mf file, please remember that it is a painted project file for your convenience. You must check your material/printer/settings to make sure it works correctly for your printing project.
I print with, 15% infill/gyroid, .12 or .16 layer height for quality.
As usual, make sure you have good adhesion, especially for the mini versions. A glue stick works or I have switched to using on all my machines... a BIQU Cryopgrip Frostbite adhesion plate.
I successfully test printed between 50% and 200% for this one. The XL version should print up to around 340? on a standard plate. Look for an update soon.
Gradient PLA works well with this model: I have a comprehensive list of Filament I use here: Amazon List
1st photo is 100% 3MF: Anycubic Classic Green and Black, Sunlu White, and Cookiecad Sunrise
2nd photo is 200% 3MF and 70% STL: iSanmate Yellow/Green, Anycubic Black, Sunlu White, Ziro Tropical
3rd photo is 115%, 80% and 70% STL: Cookiecad Unicorn, iSanmate Rainbow, Ziro Tropical

The Loch Ness monster removed off server June 1st but you still have access through your archive link if you joined prior to the beginning of this month. It wasn't exclusive for April so all you need to do is redeem the archival link and all of the files are available to you.

I usually suggest no less than 60% for details and printability.

done this one alot now and at my last 3 tables its been one of my best items sold lots of them and all mine are full size or 50% with no issues useing a bambu labs x1c in multi color and looks great printing a new batch now.

Maybe my filament was wet, but I couldn't get the head on the neck :( it broke the neck off

Yes, the original is 100% print in place body and no cuts, pop on head. I have them zipped in two seperate files!

Well, I finished the print on Nelly. It’s a scaled over 200%. It was printed on my K1 max my V3 plus and two of my K1 ‘s had it all completed in less than 10 hours. Would love to share the results with it. It’s done in a Creality gold red That looks beautiful.

So much depends on the settings. Just open in the slicer and it will tell you how much you need. Scales up and down.

Love this one! Kind of reminds me a bit of Pete's Dragon (original animated version). On the subject of mythical creatures, I was just thinking a Leprechaun would be really cool. I know we just missed Saint Patty's day but maybe something to think about for the future. :)
