🕑 Added 2023-02-01 07:59:34 +0000 UTC...I'm doubly sorry for this one, but I hope that the things that I've been working on in the background will help you forgive me. There's a lot of very exciting stuff going on, but things have made it kind of tricky to manage the deadlines that I'd otherwise have hit.
Which, you know, probably sounds like a lame excuse, partially because it probably is.
Anyway, this should be updated very soon (a day or two, basically), and by then hopefully I'll have some of that Super Exciting News to share and show, too! Until then, thank you for your support and, once more, your patience.

I'm sure you really want to believe you'll follow these up immediately, but that's not how the creative process even works. You're deceiving yourself, and piling on more guilt and pressure, which can't help. I think at this point it'd be better to switch to a per-month model in Patreon, and then try your best to release stories at whatever pace. If you're afraid you'd lose income in that model, well, I think you'll find that people are happier than you'd think to pay as a general show of support for an uncertain benefit -- especially when you're up-front about it. I mean, it's essentially what we're doing NOW, but trying to pretend otherwise with these posts, which is the worst of both worlds. (For context, I joined the patreon mostly as thanks for stories I'd already been reading for free for years, with any 'rewards' being a bonus. I've always used Patreon that way. No idea what portion of others are like me.)
