I've got the same issue - have tried a couple of different podcast apps and like Mark they land on Monday and have ads. I think there is something up with the feed link

Got it. This is not quite the point i was making. I might have misunderstood patreon, but if, back in the day 🤪😄, i paid for an annual sub to Autocar, then they couldn’t put the price up after i paid and not send me any mags until i paid the new rate. The new rate would apply to new subscribers, fair enough, but not to people who effectively already made a contract to get a year’s worth. Anyway, i wasn’t going to reply because as mentioned it is all relatively small potatoes, but since some other fans replied to this comment then i thought i would make the point. Above all, as mentioned, you guys are great; and i may have misunderstood how this works in the digital age. Cheers 😀😀😀

Same here. It seems a trivial amount but if I try to upgrade it slaps a VAT charge on. It's coming back as nearly £35 a year. Close to 3x the original annual subscription.

Really disappointing. Paid for annual membership back January. Thought oh well I will upgrade. Can't pay the difference and is now charging me VAT. Annual is nearly £35 with it added on. Can't even cancel and refund my existing subscription and switch separately. If I switch to monthly a lose what I paid for. What a mess.

That's right. Ultimately the lower tier should be phased out, as per Patreon's official guidance for raising the monthly price which says you create a new tier and let the old one whither. It's not a brilliant system, but there are obvious reasons why they don't just let you jack the price of current tiers.

If you've paid for a year you should be able to move to the new tier and your current payment will apply as credit against upgrading to the new tier for a year.

I paid for a year a couple of weeks ago but it seems now i don’t get a year. The price rise is trivial and more than fair but Rich and Jonny if you are reading this then i would argue there is an important principle here that you should honour the folks who paid for a year. You are excellent in all cases 😄😄🙌🏼🙌🏼

Went to upgrade and it says £2.49 per month…. but then adds VAT on and tells me it’ll be £2.79 per month. What’s going on there? Also that equates to 12% VAT which seems odd! Adds VAT onto the annual option too. Any ideas what’s going on as the old subscription wasn’t £1 + VAT!

On a separate (but related) admin point, you might want to check what is going on with the RSS feeds for subscribers. The subscriber podcast always turned at the same time (Monday morning) as the public podcast (including adverts), rather than Sunday evening, and that is still the case with the Eagle Quest RSS link.

Ahh top tip, just edited my membership to the higher tier and I got a credit for the 11 months I paid in advance. Happy days - that's maybe two wiper blades I can pay for now. "E.A.G.L.E.S - Eagles" (as the Philadelphia American Football fans chant).

A-ha! thought I'd already traded in the Spowahtaaaaaah for the Eagle Quest but turns out I'd forgotten. Remembered and remedied while flicking through the phone this morning in the Peugeot dealership waiting on the paperwork of my new 208GT which I kinda impulse bought.
