There are changes coming to Smith and Sniff. The first is that, from 1 May, the minimum donation to this Patreon is going up to £2.49 a month. Blame fluctuations in the Flutesy 100. Or because we kept being told by actual grown ups (and some listeners) that the original price was too low and made us look rubbish.
Where, you might ask, is the money going? Well, we can tell you one place it’s needed because… WE’VE BOUGHT THE EAGLE LIMO. More on that soon, but we wanted you, our lovely Patrons, to be first to know that Smith and Sniff has an official car at last.
But that’s not the only news we wanted to share here first. We also wanted to tell you that next month Smith and Sniff will be going twice weekly. So there’ll still be a normal show, published here on a Sunday night and released to everyone else on Monday morning, but in future that’ll be joined by a second 30 minute show on a Friday, available to Patrons on a Thursday night. We’re going to call it On The Other Side Of Things and primarily it’ll be a chance for us to answer listener questions. In a separate post we’ll throw this open to Patrons first as the world gets used to 50 percent more Smith and Sniff every week. Watch this space...

Can the price be increased without us tapping on something to accept? If so, I have a minor money-making scheme. It would require lying low for a while afterwards though… 20 years ago I had the pleasure of flying Virgin Upper Class from Heathrow to LA. The complimentary reading material was very different to Economy: a non-glossy compendium of essays. So somebody determined that the well-healed like different stuff from normal folks. Using this same logic I will create a Podcast where the majority of listeners will be 1 percenters. Initially, Patreon will be £1. Later, without telling anybody, I’ll put it up to £1,000. Or maybe a cool million. Some people will undoubtedly notice and cause a fuss but I’d have cashed in and fucked off to enjoy the money. Genius plan 😏
