A good point was brought up. If the elves gods wanted to know so badly why didnt they just offer him a blessing or some other item to hear him out. Thalion doesn't have a patron so they likely could talk to him(Even if they dont believe what's right in front of them.) Heck, they might even be able to form an alliance as long as they didnt massacre humans or act arrogant. Though I bet the arrogant part is too much to ask from them.
