That is some really good info and i have been using the same strategy, But i might just be unlucky, i have respec'd the goddess tributes, and tried the girl buff spells, as well as trying the elemental spells with no such luck still, could i still be missing something?

I've done some experimenting and found that the most reliable build seems to be only using the base units and putting all stars into upgrades, with either the minor mana or refresh time blessing.

Many levels will need you to return later with more stars to get 3 stars. They're extremely difficult with few stars. Some quick tips: Place Melany at the very back of the maze. She will lay her traps and be a safety net. Crisis is great almost anywhere, but makes the most value where she can reach diagonally more times when other preds cannot. Place deertaurs at the front with each entrance. They'll destroy armor and shields, letting the rest of your preds happily gobble up the delicious prey. Finally, practice! Find a combination of where to spend stars that works for you. There are many different ways to play. Find what works for you!

Either the levels or the card system for picking you preds I feel needs some balancing I am only managing 2 stars max too, mostly because a predator i have and need isnt usually in my card stack until its too late
