A cruel tyrant even by WYRM standards; it was he who commissioned the first slave race to be bioengineered to assist in the pillaging of planets and it was he who first taught early Earth Apes evil black magik that stains their souls to this day.
UMBABA had many wives who bore him many sires but most he ate along with their mothers when he grew bored of them. His seventh wife hatched a plan and along with her pale-scale son they bound UMBABA and gouged out two of his three eyes and cast him into a black hole. His body was torn apart to the atom but his dragon soul still persist and he waits to taste revenge.
probably the oldest dragon idea ive had after ANU. Taken from an old zulu myth of a black scale lizard god with an evil third eye who lives in a subterranean city of copper in Africa. Some of the most interesting dragons come from Africa, allot are viewed as intelligent lizard "gods" rather than conquering animals.

the original myth was told by a zulu shaman who claims it is an ancient story. in the original tale UMBABA also loses his phallus to a human in a duel (but eats his brain in revenge) and it is replaced with a prosthetic much like the osiris myth. im sure there was religious crossover from northern Egyptian and greek culture over the centuries or maybe there was a real tyrant being that ate his family and was castrated at some point during a war.

UMBABA reborn is a possible future scenario in WYRM. DEATHSIGHT is a rare dragon ability bioengineered into certain WYRM bloodlines, it can kill on sight most sentient beings not under powerful protection. it can also be used as a "scorched earth" technique and age most matter in sight. for DEATHSIGHT to be used on a planet-wide scale would take an exceptional WYRM

UMBABA is a mighty dragon, probably one of my favorites. A WYRM so strong even atomization can't end his existence... can anything kill a dragon as powerful as him permanently? As well I've been wondering about his halo as opposed to BASILISK'S crown. Does WYRM follow the BONEMEN power system of halo > synth crown/flame? Or is it purely an aesthetic choice? (also just remembered that UMBABA's eyes were originally sewn shut as opposed to gouged out)

Hail the Great Spectre King! Tell us, oh Prophet of Wyrm and Bone, does the mighty ghost stand a chance at re-entering the physical plane? And what ruinous powers does UMBABA possess? His foul eye of instant death is formidable, but to what extent does it reach? Only singular targets, or whole valleys? Lands? Perhaps even planets?
