🕑 Added 2021-05-24 21:13:35 +0000 UTC...standing in line at the deli, and this is the point of view from some bloke sitting at a cramped table during the lunch rush, noshing on a pastrami on rye.
Do you know what I miss the most about the States? There is this chain of Jewish delis in my old city. (If anyone is an ATLien, Goldberg’s, amiright?) They had this breakfast special, that was a fresh bagel, cream cheese, smoked salmon, red onions, tomato, and capers. Also a cup of coffee. For five dollars. It was the best.
Also, Dave’s Cosmic Subs... that’s a deathbed sandwich, that. The one with the turkey and gorgonzola sauce... Shiiit, that’s a good sandwich.
What’s the best sandwich you’ve ever had? Leave it in the comments if you’d like, I’m just curious. I’m on a sandwich kick (in case you couldn’t tell), so always looking for notes.

There was a soap molon pop shop in my Hometown called scoops. They have the best ham and swiss melted together. Best sandwich I ever had! Yes they always had a pickle on the side.

I am in Atlanta now, actually. Moved from Athens. I am no foodie. I get tired of eating, personally. But my favorite sandwich is turkey on wheat with colby jack, spinach, and yellow mustard. (I also feel like the whole "I am not a foodie" bit became evident when I described my favorite sandwich.) It is close to the phenomenon I call a "self-revealing prophecy."

I'm not one to reminisce about food much, but I did have a couple of great Ruebens' at a shop outside Monticello, Fla., once or twice. Made visiting my father in the rest home a little more tolerable...
