I disagree the main problem with Eldritch terror is that there are so many different ways to write it from the favorite many tentacle monstrosity to a toddler with to many teeth begging you to hide him from the faires behind your eyes. I feel most of the time people default to the ark of the covenant rules because of the simplicity.

just saying, make it one of those 4-dimensional things that hurts to look at cause it doesn't make sense. or use Eldrazi from MTG as inspiration both work really. I would warn about tryign anything Cthulu related since Eldritch Horror is very hard to write.
