I really assure you these are not crappy antennas, just based on their RF performance. They are not the same design as the ones Bruce tested either. Those had the wire coming out the bottom, these have the wire coming out the back. That indicates a whole different circuit board design.

I really like the concept of the Overlord but still suspect the same crappy Aomway patch antennas that Bruce from RCModel Reviews tested.

Kinda unbelievable how good the clearview looks.

You can put different antennas on the ClearView, but I didn't because the ClearView is intended to be used with two of the same antenna on its receivers. You can use separate antennas on the ClearView, and it will be similar to a diversity receiver but that's not its intended use. For the "out and back" range test that you see in this video, all of the other devices were in their standard configuration, which included the ability to have omnidirectional coverage. For most of the modules, this meant an 8 dBi Lumenier patch antenna in a diversity configuration with a 2 dBi cloverleaf. For the OverLord and the Furious 5-Way, this means having 14 dBi and 10 dBi patch antennas respectively, in a full 360 configuration. For the ClearView, the only way to have omni coverage and to use it exactly as it's intended is to have 2 dBi cloverleafs. Because the ClearView is such a strong contender, I thought it would be interesting to see how it stood up in the test even with this disadvantage.

Wow, I was very impressed with the clearview result. Awesome data and great job flying and synchronization .

Wow, the clearview result was very impressive to me. Great job with syncing/flying. Awesome data!

The real acc is pretty impressive while saying that the LaForge is up there too. If there were a way to mod the clear view antenna the clear view would have some ridiculous coverage

First, while some of your content may be well known to vets, this type of stuff is invaluable to many of us. I am in the process of sourcing/speccing my first scratch build. Without the experience of testing a ton of these over time, I have to often depend upon 'favorites' versus function. Thanks for doing the dirty work in order to save some of us trial and error grief!
