RemoteID: fight it; ignore it; comply with it. I've made my choice.

I tried once with Speedybee app and I could change BETAFLIGHT settings on my friends drone , felt it was scary and now they brought a password layer. Hope no one connects the IDmodule to FC, I will just take it from VBat 🥹

Thank you JB. Your the reason I'm flying today. As a newb pilot this remote ID thing makes me feel vulnerable to attack while my eyes are in the sky. Not a fan. Thank you for all your insight and info to the issue. Greatly appreciated

It just kills any motivation to join the hobby due to so much red tape and stifles innovation which could come from more people’s interest in the hobby! What amaze me is that the DOD wants to move to large drone swarm tactics for the future fight in 2 years…if we want to grow a talent pool to feed innovation in the domestic realm, we need kids and adults that aren’t discouraged and burden by stupid bureaucrats and enable them to bring fantastic ideas to the hobby which in turn can develop US domestic drone capabilities.

not freaking out. barely even acknowledging the existence. I am a free man. I live my life as such.

Thanks, I learned some things. I can understand why an air traffic controller would want RID: Too many rich idiots flying DJI's in front of puddle jumpers. But you make a great point that RID compromises the safety and security of FPV pilots by making location info public. The concept of RID has already existed on our personal cell phones for decades, but (usually) law enforcement needs a warrant to get access to our location and movements via those phones. The potential for abuse also applies to commercial drone pilots: Having real-time access to an operator's personal and work locations could invite dirty tricks by competitors.

Am I reading the FAA site correctly that if you use a drone with built-in remote ID you no longer need to be VLOS? https://www.faa.gov/uas/getting_started/remote_id

Fascism is the word you're looking for and it's growing in more ways than RID

If it’s the “esp8266 DJI throwee”I’m interested. I’m surprised this wasn’t discussed earlier…simple but effective.. kinda like “digital camouflage..”

Local law enforcement will get tired of the “Karen drone calls” and at some point not ride those “quality of life” calls… and prioritize it low…unless there is a injury or “safety” concern..

Thank you so much JB! Allt of people listen to you and your influence is hige to our hobby! Cheers!

a little dramatic, no? I reckon more of $$ interests taking over, but that also may be dramatic. Talked to an air traffic controller and he was pro RID for the DJI types. We, I think, are just getting caught in it, unfortunitely.

Can't wait for this to be implemented in the UK /s - Absolute nightmare scenario

We need to build the spoofers into common phone chargers and sell them for cheap on Amazon. Half a million of them driving around our roads would be pretty fucking sweet.

Nice job. Good choice of shirt.

Feels like a dictatorship we are living in. Our voices are ignored at every step of the way. We don't even have a voice. Just ordered to comply.

Well said. 👏🤓

Solid video JB! As someone fairly new to the hobby and industry, I've had mixed feelings on RID. This video was very insightful. Safe flying!
