Progress update (20/02/2025) - Backgrounds overhaul and other things~
🕑 Added 2025-02-21 03:25:43 +0000 UTCHello everyone, it has been some time, so, let me explain what is going on in our lives and where are we with the development. So, lets be clear, we aren't doing well.
Sack is working on the game and also studying (university) while dealing with her sickness, is not as bad as before but is a constant struggle and will be forever, unfortunately. As for me I'm not doing mentally well to be honest... struggling a lot lately, despite livestreaming and walking my dog every morning giving me some relief and help. In summary, this is our situation:
Despite the adversities, we keep moving forward and developing the game, may be harder now but we are making some progress, still contemplating finishing the game development in the next few months~
Also, speaking about livestreams, every Friday and Saturday on my Youtube channel, hang around, not trying to become a big Youtuber, just having fun and hanging around with fans of the game-
Now, time to show some progress.
Backgrounds overhaul
All the backgrounds are being redrawn to fit the new character's artstyle, the lineart is more thick but at the same time is more detailed, less digitalized and more natural looking, now the backgrounds are actually drawn instead of using shapes and vectors. Also, I added a light blue tone to the whole drawing.

This will be the definitive artstyle of the backgrounds for the final version of the game, I hope you guys like it, I'm going to make adjustments. For example, I don't know what that weird chair is for but it needs some reshape.
The same for some of the buildings here which need some alignment, other than that, the backgrounds are almost done.
Also, some backgrounds more have more details, like Evan's room having curtains.
Now the most important addition to the game, now the characters appear in the background~
These backgrounds will be used when the characters aren't on screen and there is only text describing actions, for us this adds more charm to the backgrounds and overall game, adding dept to narrations.
I'm showcasing Rei's apartment because is the one with most variations and where Evan and Rei have more activities together, but every background where they interact during events will have them added.
Also, added new variations related to the latest events added to the game; Evan staying at Rei's apartment to sleep with them.
CGs and the small additions in relation with the artwork
Sack has been working on the CGs, she is dealing with the university but still, making some progress. More info the next month.
As much as I would love to finish the first quarter of this year, we are having difficulties... don't worry nonetheless, we are progressing, the last beta will come soon, and then the final release, we are nervous and excited, is our first project and we have been suffering a lot these few months, I feel bad about disappointing people but that is life, I wish things were different but is what it is, we keep fighting~
Also, sorry for not posting progress updates as frequent as before, we prefer to show progress after gathering enough to be shown, if you guys want to follow every small progress update, join our Discord server, we make small post there with more frequency.

Aw you guys I want give you two such a big bear hug. It's great that your still improving on the game. New touches that you guys are adding to it are nice, but it's also sad to hear that you guys are still struggling with(even though you're trying to get through them) your problems. Like I mentioned a previous time, I understand how you guys feel struggling mentally, I myself am mentally struggling as well, though I try not to let it get to me(difficult to do so sometimes). I don't mind the wait for these updates I got patience and other things to keep my occupied and take my mind off it while I wait. I just hope you two remember not to push yourselves too hard. Your health comes first. *gives you both a big bear hug*❤️
