Abe sets out to convince Adam that Demolition Man’s direction is sneaky complex, albeit flawed. Looking at camera, lighting, and production design, the past and the present are at odds in the film which begs the question: based on its own system of design who is the true hero of Demolition Man?

I always thought Dennis Leary was the leader at the end. Spartan tells him to lead his people out of there in the underworld scene. And even though he says “he is no leader” and he shows no actual growth, at the end the beetle juice assistant offers his services to Leary. Then we see them walk off while Leary start ranting about the changes the assistant needs to make like his clothes and the way he talks.

God, l haven’t watched this in a while, but l listen to the theme song at the end at least once a week. That s#!t is my JAM! The original performance by Grace Jones is arguably even better, in my opinion. A bit slower, a bit funkier, and boy does she nail that chorus!

Adam mentioned it could be a 2020 Republican rebuttal to Defund the Police. No joke, a "friend" of mine unironically referenced Demolition Man as a warning of "what our nation is turning into".
