I was wrong, the swim fans nickname lasted longer than I thought it did. I just haven’t heard it in a while so I thought it was less enduring than it actually was.

I would think that Bokonon from cats cradle would slide into the futurama universe pretty seamlessly

Weirdly enough, if you're wondering who's spying on the greatest fears.... like, I am pretty sure Google's algorithm knows that shit right now. I bet that it's something similar to that.

Diablo 2 is far more fun in memory than it is now. It was GREAT at the time... now... just play Path of Exile.

This is gonna be a long one, but did you guys consider "Elementary, Dear Data"? It lacks any of the future school stuff, but it matches the sci fi trope of "Giving (too much) super intelligence to a being that lacks human sentience." Moriarty and Gunter share the crisis of being too smart for their own good. Their goal is to make the main cast look dumb, until they freak out when confronted with the reality of their existence. (Gunter and his parents, Moriarity being stuck in the holodeck.) The conflict only resolves when they accept a sort of middle ground; Gunter with the damaged hat and M w being saved until they figure out how he could exist outside the holodeck. Also, Data is a huge fuckin nerd of robot. Dr. Pulaski is all Snooty House to Data about how a robot can't be a detective. Finally, Geordy has a model ship, that I wish Data would had nervously consumed.

Just wanted to flag that the comments about potential quality of life for sentient/intelligent beings without limbs, etc. came across as ableist and could be very upsetting for people to hear. Obviously as patrons and fans we're all familiar enough with you both to know that wasn't the intention but it was still uncomfortable to hear. It could be worth adding a trigger warning to the start of the episode. (Other than that, great episode as always with interesting analysis and fun conversation.)

Hey, given the question of sentience in animals, I’d like to share this video on how a dog actually achieved a degree of communication with it’s owner through a series of buttons that it learnt to use to express its needs and desires. It’s pretty awesome! https://youtu.be/z8k2upr9vCE

I think I would have chosen Salo from Sirens of Titan to be the character who most easily makes the leap from Vonnegut book to Futurama.

What is the Worst star trek planet, that you think you would be able to survive/work in your favor, but not enjoy
