Guest wise: More Robert Evans please

Yo! It's Emo

Not a western, but if you haven't checked it out yet, Blood Quantum is rad zombie film with a focus on first nations people. Oh, and I think Katy Stoll is a great guest.

Scottie Wottie

Jason Pargin adds a lot, also Katie Goldin brings fun energy

Matthew Schembri

I'd love to hear more from Jason Pargin and Daniel O'Brien. It'd be cool to see what Soren thinks of some films/games too. Otherwise, most of the current recurring guests have ruled

Liam Thompson

Late to the party, but I always like when Cody is a guest on stuff, because it's nice to hear him talk about things that aren't maddening, or areaddening for trivial reasons.

Mark Pioli

Blood Quantum on Shudder is about an indigenous Canadian nation fighting off a zombie apocalypse. The natives are immune, the whites are not. Also, the show Reservation Dogs is fucking fantastic. I think y'all would live it.

Dead Man doesn’t have an indigenous lead, but I do think it’s one of the most radical western deconstructions, and it is about cultural apocalypse in a meaningful way. Like that’s the theme of the movie, a “death of the west” movie that posits it had already happened through Europeans destroying a people and way of life, and by the time the story takes place what’s left is mainly being scavenged by various grotesques.

Michael Vincent Bramley

I don't remember you ever having a guest on who doesn't bring something of value, but I'll throw it out there that Katie Goldin is probably my favourite podcast guest in general. She seems to be able to talk about literally anything, always brings the funny and generally elevates whatever she's in. I also think it'd be nice to hear more crossovers with 1900 Hotdog.

Cory Mull

Guests: I like your current roster, keep on doing the rotation with them. However, as for new guests, I like that Swaim has been dipping into the ign crew for 1Upsmanship. I think Brian Altano would be a great guest for some spooky movie nonsense for spooky season.

Oatland Raiders

I loved your point about how legend was so much a part of 'Old West' stories and how the reality was much more sad and mundane. I think you could make a series out of discussing westerns and how the filmmaker used their film to subvert or uphold the myth of the West. I just watched 'The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance' which would be a great one to cover.

Marco Gonzalez

DOB is definitely a top tier guest, and I really liked Alebrelle’s appearances. I’ve also been holding out for Greg Burke on another 1Upsmanship.

Joylesstiger

My vote for favorite guest is Daniel o'Brian!

Murphthemurph

Not a First Nations story but "Legend of Black Charlie" (which went originally by a WAY different title) is a Fred Williamson driven primarily black lead cast western that is rough around the edges & 1970's era offensive but holds up fairly well.

Another great video gentlemen! I tried to watch cry macho the other day and honestly I only made it 10 minutes or so. I just couldn't maintain the suspension of disbelief that Clint wasn't so decrepitly old. I definitely agree that he should be using the time he has left to foster a new generation of filmmakers rather than making more white savior movies. The sad thing is he probably sees himself as incredibly progressive for doing so. Abe- you should definitely start working on the script for that indigenous perspective western! I feel like you could crush it!

Joshua Graves

Yikes

George

I prefer you without guests. I hate every guest.
