455. Science or Whatever: The Metaverse, Pt. 2
🕑 Added 2022-01-28 14:00:08 +0000 UTC
Our collective friend and honorary Small Bean Griffin Rowell walks us through the capitalist concepts driving the current metaverse, the companies to look out for, and the methods we can use potentially to build it into something more open-sourced. Resident dummy Michael asks all the questions you may have had but were too afraid to (or just had no interest in) asking about whatever all of this is.

I have gotten like zero minutes in, but I am clamouring for a Mike and Griff JCSuperstar album.

Given the discussion on NFT’s I feel obligated to link this here. I will say it’s a more critical viewpoint of where we’re heading currently, it’s well worth a watch. https://youtu.be/YQ_xWvX1n9g

nice episode. you answered your own thoughts about the disney metaverse when you got into the adult stuff. edit: although thinking about it more. disney being all in on theme parks. (I heard from friends that the star wars experience was better than any of the new movies.) maybe they figure out new ways to dictate experience and let people handle the content to avoid liability...hmmm. also I imagine the physics in the mataverse are part of what you can customize. but the defaults are like earth.
