Love the continued analysis, Gents. In regard to the moving nature of the film, the first time I watched Magnolia a few years ago I was kicked back in my bed watching it on my relatively small computer monitor and the "One" sequence actually started to give me motion sickness. That never really happens to me, maybe I was having an off night but that has always stuck with me about the film. So many cuts that it started making me sick, haha. PS- Looking forward to the show on Phantom Thread, I caught that pretty recently and though I only watched it the one time I thought about it quite a bit for a few days after. I'm pretty sure I really didn't like it. Maybe that was the intent? I'm curious to see what light you film scholars can shed on that film. You Kings of Script and Lense. PPS- Congrats on 1Upsmanship!

This helped me appreciate this movie a little more. First time I watched it I loved it, and every subsequent time after I just couldn’t stand the stress. The use of music making everything feel like it’s part of a montage is way too much for me. But it does drive you to try connecting these stories just like we do in real life.
