A Pick the Flick episode of Frame Rate! This means one of our patrons, specifically Krischanovich, generously donated through the Pick the Flick tier and got to choose what we watched!
This episode covers the 2005 film by Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko): Southland Tales. A film with an outstanding cast, a lot of big ideas, and some really rough dialogue. The boys tackle what made this flop and more or less rip into it for 60 minutes. Sorry, Richard Kelly. Well, except for Swaim. Swaim’s not sorry.

Please, society was destroyed by Trump? He just happened to be in the place at the time. He's more awful than we've ever seen, but all politicians have always climbed on the backs of terrible evil giants.

I'm so glad that David ripped on Mad World. I have heard that fucking song a million times and everyone talks about how great it is. I hate it. It's so simple and overplayed and boring. It's not good. It's just annoying and "empty poetry."

Oh, reality TV didn't destroy society? Who got so famous playing a fake businessman on a reality TV show that he got elected President? I think this guy got it right in a lot of ways.
