If anyone's interested: I really like the songs Last Night and Hold Me Down by Motion City Soundtrack as breakup songs. They have some really good lyrical imagery in there that it feels like really puts you in the moment. I get shivers down my spine and I tear up every time I hear the songs. Hope you all are inclined to check em out! Some examples of my favorite lines: "She whispers something in my ear, the message is unclear, she motions outside I trail her closely from behind, she tries hard not to cry, she shakes underneath the pouring rain. 'I can't compete with all your damn ideas. And this isn't working out for you and me. The truth is I'm too tired to play pretend. This is goodbye this is the end'" And "You're the echoes of my everything, you're the emptiness the whole world sings at night. You're the laziness in afternoon, you're the reason why I burst and why I bloom. You're the leaky sink of sentiment, you're the failed attempts I never could forget. You're the metaphors I can't create to comprehend this curse that I call love. How will I break the news to you?"
