Also, the movie expressly shows that sortilege is just part of Doc’s subconscious at a couple points. Also Also: sortilege is french for a way of making decisions by divination or witchcraft.

My only note is to offer a correction that the place they went in the flashback based on the Ouija board and the phone message, was because they couldn’t find heroin, not weed, and the message said they could get heroin there. Sorry to be pedantic.

I haven't seen this movie yet, but your diegesis section was so entertaining. I was smiling the whole time. One thing, it was clear from your New Pornographers comment, that you aren't familiar with Joanna Newsom's music. I think Mike, with his folk music background, would love it. For me, she is one of the very few people I regard as a genius. Hard recommend.

Bigfoot mentions his co-workers dont take him seriously. Later we learn his wife is verbally abusive. so does he go to the restaurant (even though the pancakes aren't great) to yell at the staff? is this the only restaurant he hasnt been kicked out of for abusing staff or yelling loudly?Swaim mentioned that he might like the Sub role with his wife, is this his attempt at being a Dom? Is that what he's doing with that frozen banana? so many questions about this guy.
