I think the movie Mike was thinking of might be Kate and Leopold; but he was from the late 1800s not Elizabethan times, so conceivably they could communicate.

One of the funniest realizations i had listening to this is by saving keanu from the bus she undoes their whole relationship because his death was what drove her to go to the lake house in the first place. The second funniest realization is this is the second movie where a bus brings keanu and sandy b together
