🕑 Added 2024-11-15 14:00:18 +0000 UTC
We want to thank Ken M. for donating to our movie Papa Bear! At his request, we recorded a Frame Rate discussing our first attempt at indie filmmaking some 15 years ago. If you haven’t seen it, it’s available on Plex (for free), as well as Youtube and Amazon Prime.
We talk about the struggles and blessings of making a movie with an ultra-micro budget as well as what it was like on set day to day with an ensemble of talented sketch comedians!

Kill Me Now was long a go-to gift for friends (while I could still find Region 1 DVDs). Cracking film, looking forward to Papa Bear

So this town was actually “undisclosed”?😂😂

Is this movie no longer on normal (not buy/rent) youtube? Do you guys get any royalties from the amazon/youtube rental? Theoretically, I'd imagine it doesnt make enough money to send out royalties... until papa bear makes 100M and people finally discover it

I own three versions of The Climb. The pdf, the hard copy and the version that's LSD wherein Mike appears as a hallucination and imparts the story via interpretive dance.
Steve Snyder
I agree, and highly recommend The Climb. It’s wonderful as audio version because Mike reads it.

watched it last night for the first time. Can't believe I missed this gem of a horror comedy for so long. Give these guys a real budget, Hollywood!

I watched it. It's great! Also, I remember pushing 40. You guys are a lot younger than you think right now.

This is probably my all time favorite FR

Not at all, Steve!
Steve Snyder
Should’ve listened first, sorry.

I think a lot of us would enjoy if y'all did a beanus commentary track for KMN. Or showed it on a SB Monday Movie night 👀

Maybe it hasn't happened to a level you'd prefer but I agree with initial quote, you are one of the most important writers of this era.

I really loved this movie the first time, and have gone back to watch it a few times. Some of the joy comes from seeing all these folks I love working together, but some of it is just the delightful twists and turns of the film

Kill Me Now is very funny and you should be proud of it. I went in with low expectations (this was long before the Small Beans days) and enjoyed it thoroughly. Only a few minutes into this ep, but wanted to shuffle that compliment out there.
Small Beans
A short one at the beginning of this episode. More to come!

Speaking of Papa Bear, any updates?
