That person is a colossal douchebag, and so is anyone else that is harassing you over this. I'm sorry that you are being treated this way. I think a lot of it for the dropping costs is just that so many people are out of work due to Covid and cutting back everywhere. That is what I have done, and has nothing to do with the quality of your work (which is spectacular still!) Hang in there.
