March 2022 update
🕑 Added 2022-03-23 14:09:02 +0000 UTCThe venerable old Taig mill let the smoke out a few weeks ago and no matter how hard we tried, we couldn't get the damn stuff back in. We depleted our stock of genuine Lucas smoke in the process and eventually had to go for a full rebuild. It's now back and better than ever using a modern power supply and an upgraded control board.
At the same time, we've been working on the switch and instrument cluster and we hope the attached photos appropriately convey the madness. These two photos are small and medium madness, with the larger madness not fit for public consumption just yet.
Due to the complexity of Nik's requirements for the instruments and switch panel, we're having to create our own PCB's and we're hoping to use a process that no-one (to our knowledge) has tried before. Initial testing has been, well, um, it's not been a failure it's just been ways it hasn't worked yet. But we're hopeful some parts on the way will fix our issues with it.
We're extremely keen to get over this hurdle as it's the last of large ones. There's light at the end of the tunnel and we're fairly sure it's not a train coming the other way... It could be though.
So close to the finish of this folly, we just can't compromise so our apologies for the lack of content, that's entirely our fault. Race of Remembrance video will probably hit late next week.

I'm guessing: A PCB to fit in the standard mini switch panel but with integrated miniature relays to drive systems and going out on a limb here: using the old choke knob as some kind of variable boost knob?
