had no idea about the ableton default clipping, unironically was wondering how everyone had their shit so much louder than mine when I was trying to get it loud at 0 on the master LOL
VIRX
I thought this was only an Ableton Suite 10 thing about the clipping, does this work on Ableton 11 as well?

What the fuck

Try dropping it in a separate project. In 2 years of doing this technique I havent seen it export above 0db. I’m using the stock ableton export settings as well.
BARRELZZ
It says +3 so must be some other issue. Would it be something to do with specific export settings?
Nick Sisto
does it say +3db or are you seeing that in a lufs meter? If its in lufs meter, your true peak will be high still. If its in db on the ableton mixer, you must have an issue w how you’re routing it. When you export it and its clipped by ableton, its is not over 0db at all
BARRELZZ
Hey man I tried the export trick with my track at +13db and once I drag it back in without going through the master it still says the track is hitting around +3db. Any suggestions?

Thanks man this helps a ton!

depends on the kick, most of the time hip hop kicks dont have much of a transient and just a knock to it, leaving room for the transients of claps to fit there. If the kick is more dubsteppy with a tick to it, then i fade the clap transients a tiny bit. It's just preference at that point though of if the transient is cutting through the mix better layered with the kick and clap or the kick only and the clap transients faded a tiny bit.

What up brotha. Do you fade out transients of layered drums? Like fading out the transient of the clap when it is layered with the kick?
