But, then, as so often happens after chemo, his hair changes texture, etc. At the beginning of season 6 he has CURLS!

At some point you asked if he was wearing a wig. No, he isn't. Not until season 5. At the end of season 4 MCH was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and had chemotherapy in the off season. So he wears a wig in season 5, but he survived, yay! You may notice that he starts looking sick around episode 8, 9, or 10. :(
