uzui couldnt risk causing a fight with an upper rank, it would kill thousands just in collateral alone. sending the kids in. they may be kids but they are up and coming full demon slayers. he just needs them to confirm the wives are inside. then he can go in. vs causing a huge scene. he just needs the boys to confirm if they are inside or not.

So when tanjiro makes that face, and it gets black and white, the translation is supposed to say: “lying is so hard for tanjiro that he ends up making this face” or something along those lines.
