Filler is original content created to buy time for the manga to get ahead and has no input from the original author Anime canon is original content based on material mentioned, but not seen in the manga and usually has some input from the original author Sue did an internship, we didn’t see it, the studio said this is what the internship looked like, Horikoshi said great I love it that’s now officially what happened. Thus anime canon instead of filler

This is filler, but it at least is relevant to later episodes. Plus, if the plan is to watch all the movies, this first filler ends up tying into the setup episode for the 3rd movie.

Thanks for at least giving the opening a chance lol. I don't expect you to like all the openings. I just think its a good thing to give all openings a shot. Plenty of instances where people listen and watch an opening they originally didn't like and after a few times a few episodes down the line they fall in love with it. Not saying this happens all the time but it can. I think u get what I mean tho

In naruto some of the fillers get referenced, like the isobu arc and the saiken arc

We signed up to watch them go through the shows they watch in the way they see fit. If they want to watch stuff like this "filler" which it barely even is as it's referred to along the way, it's their choice. We shouldn't tell others how to enjoy their hobbies.

The line I draw personally with longer shows is that if a filler is absolutely a throwaway adventure that will never be relevant or referenced again in the overall plot or themes, I skip it. I believe this one is referenced later in the anime so I'd consider it worth knowing about. If you look at a bunch of other longer shonen shows like Naruto or One Piece, there are whole-ass mini arcs that are fillers and literally nothing has changed or is ever referenced again, which is just a waste of time.

we just didnt want u to skip the intro :') its funny cuz this intro is actually the first one i liked immediately on my first listen, whereas the first two took me a few listens to get into but it seems like its the opposite for others and im in the minority there lmao... i get that the song isnt rlly hype tho, i just love it

Fillers became hated in a legendary way by fans due to shows like bleach and Naruto spamming them so the show can catch up to where they were in the Manga and most people wanted to see the main plot than fillers and that reputation never went away

Personally, I skip them only if it’s completely irrelevant in the grand scheme of the show / if they’re terrible (ie the Naruto fillers were bad back in the day. And there were like 90 of them)

I don't understand why you would skip a filler episode. If you enjoy a show, you would want to see everything it offers, even if it doesn't continue the main story. But often it develops side characters, like in this one. It's just additional content of the show you like.

Something y'all might find interesting, just as a quick aside, would be to go back through the intros and look specifically to Deku's relation to All Might in them as the series goes on. It's been a minute, but I think this is the first one where they start to be put on somewhat equal ground, visually.

I'd definitely recommend watching the filler episodes. Some of them are pretty fun, and a couple of them act as "prequels" to the MHA movies. So, if you plan on watching the movies, you should definitely at least watch those episodes.

Huh?? In my opinion this isnt a filler episode. The froppy internship gets referenced later in the series and i dont know how anything related to bakugoes temper management with jeanist can be counted as filler. i do think it is in the wrong spot tho

Also at 8:53 you were talking about how heroes need to compensate for when they have specific quirks, think about stain, all of those fighting skills were his and his alone, the quirk just paralyzed his prey
