For those who didn't notice. Back in episode 4ish the Emperor said he "just" spoke to Clovis (after he died) which could be the reason the why the Emperor knows about Lelouch and his Geass

Jonathan Spencer

There is a reason for this too. Has to do with the royal bloodline being exceptional in regards to affinity to geass powers. It's also why the only persons who have broken Charles' Geass are Leloch and Nunnaly

Jonathan Spencer

Actually if you watch it in Japanese the subs say, "he's done it. He's actually done it!"

Zero2Antihero

That's interesting, I had no idea the sub translation is different here! There doesn't appear to be any info identifying who the Emperor is talking about in the Japanese line, though (the pronouns were definitely added in translation). The difference might come from the last word, which is either a noun about a "special/unique price" (what the sub is using) or a verb about "commanding respect" somehow linked with morality? (which is probably where the dub gets "worthy"). As far as I can tell, anyway. The syntax feels weird.

I want lelouch to do a back flip

Jarrod Clemens

Alot of people theorize the reason the power activated their is because he was about to 'betray' his contract. "The Power of the King will condemn to a life of solitude." Fans believe by allying himself with Euphemia, he wouldn't be alone anymore, so the power intentionally waited for that moment to activate so he'd be left alone. Its a bit of a reach for me, but its an interesting idea...

Fresh2000

19:27 it only feels like a strange reaction because you guys been treating lelouch like light but he has more of a heart. Knowing that euphy gave up everything to have the special zone were nununally with her brother to live peacefully, her selflessness made lelouch choose to join her in that moment...before the geass accident that is...

Eric

Yeah this was the episode a lot of us were waiting for because it only get's wilder here on out, rip euphy

Dionysia

woops, said a spoiler and immediately deleted it. Hope no-one saw that!

Dionysia

My interpretation was more like, his power started to activate involuntarily and he felt pain and winced, similar to how he felt pain before it activated involuntarily in the room with Euphy.

Chobit

Such a traumatic episode.

Devon P

As someone who never even watched Code Geass but was aware of the shocking event in this episode, I was looking forward to seeing Montanas reaction to this.

JHB

I'm of the view that the person the emperor knows "is worthy of being my child now" is sweet, gentle, empathetic Euphy (who, for those qualities, he considered weak and useless), not Lelouche. He thinks Euphy made a savagely ruthless power play: Set up the Elevens with an offer of hope and kill the ones who took the bait.

Troy Thurman

I know some disagree but Im under the impression that the emperor is saying Euphemia is worthy of being called his child now for killing them To this point Charles knows Lelouch is alive from Clovis but Idk how he would know he is zero or has geass

Frolan Ken Magdua

Just so you know, whenever lelouch orders someone he geassed they will instantly do it. But on this case, Euphemia tried to resist it. She's the only person at this point who tried to resist it.

No Consequence

Yeah, it's both clearer and more vague at the same time lol

Girish

I watched Code geass a long time back but this moment is etched in my brain forever, it hurts so much!!!!

Eric Gjertsen

Oh geez, I just went and watched the sub. Interesting...

Eric Gjertsen

I'd like to know what the direct translation is if it's different from the dub!

No Consequence

Would it be considered a spoiler to mention what the Emperor says in Japanese? I'm genuinely unsure

KingPin

I wish you guys can do code geass twice a week but it’s cool

Iraess Ranza

Favorite part of this episode besides the obvious, is seeing Schneizel's reaction, we haven't seen too much but thus far he's shown as the "Perfect Prince" always in control, charismatic, and willing to exploit people (see his actions on Kamine island) and yet he's seemingly horrified by what he's seeing, very interesting to see against the juxtaposition of the emperor's reaction, nice little insight Into each of their characters Horrified, Guilt Ridden, Elation

Moondreaming

.....

KingPin

The next episode is definitely gonna hurt

Dangitronepas

The biggest bruh moment in all of anime...

William Morales

Æther Paradox

And NOW we begin. All Hail LeLouch 🫡

Moondreaming

Watching this hurts every time....

Kollie123

You hate to see it

Kollie123

Or is just that a convenient red herring for the power growing stronger without him noticing? 🤔

Check mobile browser or a computer, this seems to be a Patreon glitch recently
